Default problems installing cf hood

anyone do this install themselves? when intsalled it seems to not be aligned properly, how do you adjust this? i would guess at the hinges, but don't know how to get under there without messing something up? am i going to have to take off the fenders?

working on this project for a friend . . . any help or reccommendations would be helpful

You really should have someone else help you with the install. Losen up the hood to where you can move it side to side a little. From there you can tweek and make final adjustment.

What do you mean by fitment problems anyway? Almost all CF hoods aren't going to have a perfect match like OEM does. If its way off it may not be fixable.

If you notice, fitment isn't flush against each side like the OEM hood is. However, its not way off.

Good luck!

you just have to move it around. You can also file out the holes for the top latches so it can move side to side to make it fit better. By the way where di dyou get your hood. Just wondeirng why the fitment is poor. Any pictures? Send to me yea? hopefully I can help you out more on this.

Are the hinges on any of the Scions adjustable 'up and down'?

My bBist hood has a very simliar problem as well...the driver side sits almost an 1/8" to high on the driver side. Real bummer! It sticks out like a swore thumb

Not to mention it too has a problem with fittment from side to side. (which I have learned to live with...at the moment)

you can move the hood around on teh hinges

or you can move the fenders a lil bit but dont tak out the bolts, jus loosen them and move the fender's as bit,

you can even move the headlights a lil bit

its real easy, ur not gonna mess anything up
