Projector headlights vs original headlights?

Projector headlights vs original headlights?
Ok well recently I got into a hit and run at a parking lot and the idiot who hit my car didn't leave a note and now I am stuck fixing the front bumper and the driver side fender. The 06 headlights are so so but I was wondering if I should just get the projector OE or OEM headlights from the newer tC. Is it worth it since I have 08-10 OE tail lights? Or should I just get the 06 headlight? And if I decide to get the projectors what will I need to have in order to get normal working HID projectors to not have any issues?

So you have a 06 tc...if you go with the 08+ projectors, you will need to buy a H11 HID kit. they will be more expensive than your 06 headlights when you go to buy the replacements...however, there is a company that makes aftermarket ones that look the same and perform almost the same for about half the price of an OEM 08+ projector...heres the link if youre interested:

they also have aftermarket 06 OEM style lights, so if youre going to go with that look, its much much cheaper than at the dealership...

Your right the OE headlights are pretty good for aftermarket, virtually identical, but the projector cutoff step is offset and very tall. Half the price for OEM and IMO better for retrofitting!

if you drive long trips at night time and more frequently, you will start noticing your output get dimmer and dimmer. it will slowly diminish overtime once the chrome starts peeling.
there's really no need for 55w, if you get OEM 35w bulbs and ballasts combo it would probably beat the overall performance of 55w generic PNP kits.

I have not personally used 55W bulbs. but other personal statements aren't out of reach of course..

DigitalPro may be of better expertise at experimenting with 55W kits, personally I don't believe the chrome inside the housing can handle that kind of heat. Now try running 55W in your high beam reflector, that might work better since I believe the high beam bulbs burn at 65w for halogen..... i could be wrong hehe.

I ran 50W Morimoto's in my older stock 08'+ halogens, really bright!! Then went back to 35W Morimotos, this was a while ago though. Too much light will have a negative affect on you vision and long drives will exhaust your eyes. For longevity I will stick with 35W ballast and think about a retrofit to OEM projectors and bulbs.

I am awaiting for my ballasts and h11 bulbs to come in. The guy is dragging on sending them to me. I can't wait any longer. So in the meantime I got h11 bulbs from autoparts store and messed with the wires to get them to work from 9006. But since the kit is universal there won't be an issue.
