Default Putting license plate on dash....

Do you guys ut something down on the back of the license plate so it doesn't scratch the dash??

Or do you just wedge it in there and thats it??

Thanks

You'd still get a ticket for having it there. Just take it off to avoid unnecessary scratches, just tell the police you zip-tied it on your grill and lost the other plate.

i had mine in my backseat, told the cop one screw fell out, and even showed him the other one (even though i had them both) still gave me a verbal warning.

so then i got 4 of those little suction cups with hooks on them and suctioned them to the window, and put the hooks through the 4 holes in the license plate.

Thanks for all the replies...
I never thought about using suction cups.... lol

I live in a pretty small city in TX...I spend most of my time in a city of about 100k population and I drive to a small town for school that has like 15k population and I see all kinds of cars with them on the dash....

My mom has never gotten pulled over for no front plate, and she told me if she ever did
she would say "So thats why they gave me two plates" lmao
since there are no holes in the front bumper for a plate...

yea i dont feel safe with just a plate laying on the dash, if u ever got into an accident, you could have a nice thin piece of metal thats kinda sharp flying straight at your neck/face...

^^yeah, my car is REALLY low so I have to be xtra careful. The bracket only extends below the lip 1/2 inch and it's actually saved me from scraping the lip twice, yay!

yeah, I've already paid the state for my no front plate mod

If I forget to put it back up, I'll just jump out really fast like, and say "It's right there Officer!"

man i am SOOOO glad we don't have to have a plate in the front.

i mean if they are following u then why do they need one in the front? they shouldn't run ur tag till u have done something wrong anyways.

I disagree, when I was going on ride-alongs, there were many times when I would just run people's plates in traffic and they would come up with either stolen plates, warrants, or stolen tabs, etc...If it comes up as a stolen car, then woohoo! JACKPOT! DING, DING, DING! WE HAVE A WINNER!...but I was never lucky..... but yeah front plates suck.

I bought it. It's the Altec "show-n-go" retractable plate holder thingy...

www.altecproducts.com

but these guys have a better price and it's who I bought it from on eBay:
