Question about 19's and NOT getting a DROP
i want to get some 19's tires for the summer, and i have decided on a 8 spoke Silver tire, that i really liked. My only problem is i cant afford the Drop right now..
Will 19's look ok with out the TRd drop, Untill i can afford it next summer?

and you would know because you have 19s???
I've have 19s on my car. it rides better than stock and this is in San Francisco with TONS of potholes. Even on stock wheels I would avoid them or slow down and I do the same with the 19s I have now.
if you have a proper set up with springs and shocks you should be fine. I love my set up with goldline springs, trd shocks, and trd swaybars. and yes you are at risk at bending your rim and pinching your tires but you are also and IDIOT if you going to drive fast over potholes.
So I've had 19s in San Francisco which is know for the worst roads and after a year on this current setup everything is fine.
also if you just drop your car with springs and have stock shocks it might be a lot rougher than if you got both spring and shocks or even coilovers.
and I suggest dropping your car first because the car will look stupid with 19s and being really high. I had it like that and I took them off because it really did look funny until I got my springs and shocks in the mail.

well thats all news to me about being comfortable, but I guess if you go slow enough,
You cant escape the physics of larger wheels means less tire between the rims (this is the outer part of the wheel for all you noobers) and the rock hard pavement.,
Course some people get mammoth stereos and vibrate their car loose that way, im just a purist I guess. so nope. i dont have 19s or aftermarket stereos

i'd have to agree with 2ezee, after putting a pair of my stockers on the front cuz i got a flat, I am amazed at how much smoother and quieter the ride is over my 17's and they had decent rubber on them. I'll still take the 17's for the cornering.
Just swap the springs out when you swap the tires...
i think the underlying theme here is that most people don't like the look of big wheels + big wheel gap + added ground clearance...

the problem is when going up in wheel size your tires will have a lower profile, "side wall" You want to maintain the same diameter as your stock set up... If you don't do this then your speedometer will be off. If that doesn't matter then go ahead.
That being said, I would lower my car first, your wheel gap will not change if you don't.
I ran into the snow problems when i lived in ohio, keep your stock rims for the winter.

i have 19"s and no drop. look at my profile or car domain pics and make up your mind. I will be doing a 2" drop soon... the B&G springs are sitting in my room right now... but i think i will rub =\

I have 18's right now and tein springs...they rub when there are passengers in the car or when I havta bust a U-ee (cranking the wheel all the way)...hence I ride alone often...I'm getting 19''s might put stock springs on or get TRDs...
my advice..get one or the other...OR drop your car and get 18's
