Default question on the black box under hood.

I recently installed the K&N drop in filter and didnt notice that the black box doesnt look fully closed on the back. It seems to look a little open. The back meaning oppisite side of the clips. Is this normal?
I have a BSP tc btw. 06

Is this a fuse box? If so you'll want to get that closed to ensure water doesn't get inside.

no not the fuse box, the black box that holds the air intake.

I'd work on it, to ensure it closes correctly.... It's been a while since I had a stock air box, but if I remember correctly, it's hinged on the rear and snaps down on the front... just make sure everything is in place, before snapping it down... it should close cleanly.

It seems the clips close correctly but it doesnt close to make a box, the back side seems to be up just a tad, you still cant see the filter but I feel it doesnt seem right. I'll take that pic once that stupid camera arrives from that geek squad best buy thing.

It does matter greatly if it is closed properly. The top of the box is the post-filter side. So unless you want to be sucking dust and whatever else into your intake manifold you want to ensure it closes properly.

When it goes back on, the tabs on it slide beneath the catches on the bottom peice, then the clips snap into place. If you can see a gap around it you are sucking in air around the filter, not through it.

Sounds like the back (opposite of the clips) is not inserted corectly. Un-snap the clips, pull the top of the box toward the fender, slide the tabs beneath those on the bottom portion and push it back towards the engine. Then snap the clips back in place.

What a pain it was to get in that box. I had to jam the K&N intake in there, but it expanded when I closed it. I also noticed it lost some oil itcame with but I got it in with a swollen finger... stupid clip.. Now everything is closed and the car sounds better.

Lastly...I let the car stay idle for about 10 min before I went around the block.. the RPM's went down slowly when idle for those 10 min. Now it stays between 0.1 to 1. Is that normal? I cant remeber it before. =(

That little "psst" is the engine's blow-over valve. (Mine does it, too.) I was surprised by it myself, as I thought BOV's were turbo / SC territory, but I guess I'm wrong. It's basically there to let out exhaust and help drop the RPMs to match the transmission when shifting gears I believe. I could be wrong, though; I'm sort of a n00b, too.
