Default Quick "Dress Up" Questions

First question: With this ebay item

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...51333756QQrdZ1

Will this grill fit a 2006 tC? Also, has anyone had any expeirence with this grill/company. Any one know any other better looking grills in this price range..around $100.

Second question: Right now I have the stock lights (yelloish). How can I make them blue..like HID lights. I know there is a whoel big thread on it..but is it easy to just buy some light bulbs from Autozone or something and place them in the bulb spot? Or will I need to buy a whole light assembly? Also, I'm not very mechanical with cars....so if the only way to do it is "Do it yourself", I'll pass. I was just wondering if I could just replace the bulbs and create an HID or White/Bluish tint look.

Thanks again for puting up with my newb self![/url]

Thanks. Any answers to my second question.

HERES A THIRD QUESTION!

I'm interested in the HKS Exhaust...but I want to make sure it isn't TOO loud (legally) to have on my car. My dad listen to an audi clip and was worried that I may get pulled over by cops. I'm not going to change anything on the exhaust..just bolt it right up and maybee add a Injen CAI down the road.

Its a nice grille, but I'm sick of all the grilles that attach with zip ties... If tight enough, and stressed enough, the grille will come out, and probably cause some damage.

Yes it will fit.

For blue-ish lights, you can just buy replacement bulbs and put them in yourself, most people recommend Sylvania Silverstars. You can also purchase an HID kit from one of the dealers in sponsored sales, although it's a bit more than just getting bulbs.

The HKS exhaust isnt loud at all unless you floor it, it's barely audible at idle, and cruising around town below 3k rpm, it's a low rumble.

Thanks for the info Punk.

I have an auto..so what exhaust would you say would give me the most performance/sound (good sound) with an Injen CAI. I'll probally be getting the exhaust first though. I was thinking either HKS or Injen.

About the lights....is it really really easy to install new light bulbs in my car? And will they look good like HIDs?

Also..are HID kits around $100-200?

No axleback will give you any noticeable power gains. As far as sound goes, it's all up to you, they all sound relatively the same, can't go wrong with any of them.

The lights are easy, just gotta disconnect the wire to the bulb, pull the bulb out, replace, and voila! The lights will look good like HIDs... to other people, but they won't produce the same light output. Most aftermarket bulbs, while they appear brighter, actually produce less light than the stock bulbs.

HID kits are around 250

walmart has them in a two pack, and the are the 9005.
Also, do not touch the actual bulb with your hands, or it will damage them.

here is a link you may find intresting, it has the most common asked questions abou the Tc

Note on the bulbs if you do touch them by mistake you can clean them off with some alchohol (not the drinking kind!)

The higher Kelvin rating is what makes the light brighter but also makes the Lumens (light output) go down so like it was pointed out if you toss in your standard HID hyperwhite bulb you pick up at your local speed shop that says it will give you 100watts over your stock 55 you still might not see as far down the road, don't know how many bulbs I have went through! I'm running a JDM yellow which reflects real nice and provides way more light then the HID look lights, if you can find a bulb with a rating you want around 4300-6000K any less will be yellow and more will start to be blue.

If you are interested in a HID kit check it out in sponser sales https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=112925

As for an exhaust hit up Stylis he has a nice setup for the tC and he's a nice guy

That picture on his Ebay auction looks a bit photoshoped to me. Anyone else see it? Especially around the shadowed areas on the bottom vent.

I can't speak for the guy you listed, but for what its worth I got mine from this guy:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...spagenameZWDVW

They are top notch, and I know his pics aren't photoshoped. Either way, most likely they are comperable.
