Hello everyone. I just installed 6000K HID on my 08 tc with projectors. Is it better to hardwire the HID's? I just connected to the factory harness but I read someone on here say that doing this will burn your factory harness cause HID draw more power and factory harness is not made for higher power. So is this true? Please help me out. Thanks

 

It's safer to, but it's not necessary. I ran 6000K HIDs in my 05 for about 2 years without hardwiring or relays or fuses and never ran into an issue. I'm running a relay now just for more protection.

 

HIDs will require a lot of power at start up then a lot less once running. You should be good with the factory harness, its the ballast's job to regulate power going to the bulb

 

I'd rather be safe than sorry. You can get a new wiring kit from MobileHID with and inline fuse and relay.
