wtf 18% on the windshield, or is it just the top by the visors? if it's the whole thing then that's crazy to drive with at night.

Bionic....i am in the same boat you are....

I just got 3 tickets recently, 1 fix it ticket, and 2 violation tickets...

fix it ticket it was for my tint.... it is 10% and legal in FL is 28% (but i had the 10% tint for 2 yrs now)

and the other 2 tickets where for my front headlight tint witha dark smoke (pass sherrifs and police everyday)
and other was for my sticker on the top of my front window....

its retarded, the day i am stuck in traffic and there is a FHP around, he gets behind me, follows me in traffic for 15mins, i go to make a u-turn to go down another street, and he finally pulls me over...

Yeah it was the whole thing. People on SL always told me I was crazy but I liked it. Nonetheless, I got it changed to 50% after too much police attention.

Haha. I figured. After I got my last ticket, I started driving everywhere with my windows permanently lowered. However, this was during our little 115-degree heatwave a few weeks back, and that was the last straw for me. If I put the windows up I knew I would get pulled over, but having the windows down was like torture.

So what were the circumstances that finally caused you to get caught? Did you forget to put them down one day?

Actually I first got pulled over for my taillights and my windows were down... the CHP asked me to roll up my windows and he ended up busting me for the tint... it was a total dick move on him i think... are they allowed to do that??

Well, they are "allowed" to do anything they want. Whether or not you have to comply is another matter. He is totally allowed to ask you to put the windows up, but I don't think you have to do it. If you have the *****, you should ask him how that is relevant to the taillight charge. As a last resort, you could claim the windows are broken. He definitely isn't allowed to put them up himself. The fact is that you were not driving with tinted windows. By driving with the windows down, you were making yourself more visible than most other drivers.

i got pulled over for my tint too... its 30% but the cop was a jacka$$. he also made me roll them up to test them bc he pulled me over when they were down. he said he pulled me over for not having a front plate, but i did... he jsut wanted to get me pulled over and find something to cite me for... anyways, i got the ticket for $110. in order for me to retint the front 2 side windows, it was 90 plus 10 for removal. so $100. i paid the ticket, and still debating on getting the tint fixed. i love it. 50% just seems pointless to me, but its the law so... ill probably fix it when i get some money floating around...

I got my backs blacked out at the dealership when I bought my car but now i want to get my fronts tinted. I live in Sacramento and see tons of cars tinted so I think I will go with 50% but does anyone know of a good place around here?

I got a friend of mine that has limo tint on his BSP. He got a fix it ticket, refused to pay it and was later sent a ticket for $350 for not removing the tint. Remove it, then get it reinstalled.

I've had mine tinted 5% from the A-pillar back for 2 years and 2 days. The only time I got busted I was on I-5 on labor day weekend speeding with my windows down and got pulled over. Then he asked me to roll them up and have me a ticket. In yolo county they must not give fix it tickets because I just received a $400 ticket for speeding and tiny with no chance to fix it. Other than that I haven't been pulled over once and I have them up all the time. Knock on davedave's dash I don't get a ticket.

I had the same thing happen to me. I was speeding (stupid) and the cop that pulled me over asked me to roll the window up a little, then he saw no front plate. I didn't argue with him at all or try to fight my way out of it, but somehow my ticket went from being pulled over for speeding, no front plate and window tint, to just a fix it ticket for window tint. I confess, I cheated the system and asked my brother in law to write it off....all I had to pay was $10.

I got a ticket for mine during one of those random inspections...No tint is allowed on ANY window in Jersey, it blows. I had 5% rear and 20% in the front...Going from tint to no tint sucks.

the best way to get out of a tint fix it ticket is get a picture of a car the same as urs n edit a date on it n have a tint shop give u a paper saying its removed and bring it to court or police station IN A DIFFERENT CAR n have them sign off on the ticket

Cops don't sign off on pictures - not here anyway.
