random question. does anyone know how much it would be to completly repaint? also, if you were doing that couldn't you repaint it a different color?

 

the question is too broad because "One Day" will repaint the car for a couple hundred bucks. a repaint that replicates factory paint will be in the thousands. a color change can either include just the exterior or all painted surfaces which means removing almost everything to paint all exposed (and unexposed) areas.

a good color change will cost thousands and will generally diminish the value of the vehicle. just say no to a color change on a new vehicle unless you are customizing it and are willing to spend the dough (or get a paint sponsor).

 

I just got mine repainted in factory BSP. Because it was in an accident and needed parts, I can only guess about the paint bill alone--somewhere between $5-6K

 

^ pretty right. for a great quality, no orange peel finish, you'd want to spend at least 2k and up...

color change tho... think of all the part stripping you would do to hide the old color....

 

To do a color change properly, all of the above plus; find a good bodyshop and check out what they're currently working on.
Word of mouth is generally the best advertising for a good bodyshop.
To do a color change right... Don't just bring your checkbook, bring the bank.
