Replacing the Sunroof
well when i look off the top sun roof to tint it i noticed it weight a ton....well at least 30lbs...
i know a good plastic place that might make a carbon fiber version.
what do u guys think a good idea or a waste of money and time?
the tC is pretty high off the ground not low like the cousin the celica...
so reducing the top weight will reduce body roll.

installing a nice rear sway bar would reduce body roll.
replacing the glass would be more for just weight reasons. there are some people who have replaced the roof completely with either a fiberglass or CF roof.
not sure about just the moonroof glass part.. and having the thing still operate as one... though i think there is at least one person out there who's replaced the wind deflector to something non-glass.. (CF i would say)
it would still be a great deal of money involved.... if you really want to put in the effort.

waste of money..if you wanted to shed some pounds, just get rid of your spear tire. However gettin rid of the sunroof just for 30 pounds is pretty pointless. What happens if you all of a sudden get a little bigger and gain 30 pounds? Kinda defeats the whole purpose.

LOL Who all of a sudden gains 30 lbs! Its like strapping a 12" bubble tv to your back.
If you gain 30 lbs all of a sudden, the last thing you need to worry about is curb weight and control of the car and you need to get yourself to the doctor.

You could always replace it with TriVex hahahahaha or diamond coated polycarbonate!? That would be cool, because then it would still be see through! And weigh basically nothin! Or you could just be happy with the neat glass roof! :D
