Default RS1 CF Rear Lip Fitment Issues

Hey guys, so I bought a CF RS1 Rear lip... but have some issues installing it. Can anyone help me out please?

The passenger side fits line, and matches the lines of the bumper

The driver side, however, doesn't fit...

You can see how it doesn't curve around the bumper well, and it also doesn't line up horizontally.

Here's a picture of how it's too low, and ends up below the correct horizontal line.

A picture from the passenger side. You can see how the passenger side lines up correctly, but the driver side doesn't...

Again, the passenger side fitting nicely.

But the driver side doesn't. I scraped away some paint trying to push the driver side of the lip up. It doesn't go, because the part where you put in the screws isn't flat against the bumper...

If you look carefully, you can see how the top of the lip touches the bumper, but the bottom has a good centimeter or so away from the bumper. Pushing the lip up only makes the angle worse.

My finger showing the gap.

I took a look at my friend's ABS RS1 lip, and it seems to have been made from a different mold. The ABS version has a different design around the inside upper edge of lip, and also has a little ridge that fits into the depression in the rear bumper.

Has anyone else has similar problems? I know there are a bunch of people with the CF lip, how did you guys install yours?

try sanding down the inside of the rear lip, also did you try installing it the other way as in driver side first and then passenger to see if you would have the same problems but this time on the passenger side? if so maybe if you sand down both sides it would be easier to install.

i have the same rear and it fit fine when i had it and mocked it up. carbon fiber is tricky to work with cause fitment will never be spot on always. even the rs1 cf front lip fits funny too.

Thats Normal for CF Rear Lips....

My friend has the CF RS1 whole kit.....its just a CRappy Mold used to create it.

The CF side Skirts were Very Horrible fitment!!!!

We got the Rubber Stripping that goes on the OEM GFX kit that u put on the edge that helped with the Gapping space.

I have the RS1 CF lip kit as well. The front lip fits pretty well, but the side skirts are terrible. The passenger side fit pretty well but the drivers side fit like crap. That was even after my buddy and I trimmed it to fir better. Also the CF rear lip I have rattles against the exahust all the time and there were soem gaps as well.

I am happy with how it looks just not too happy with the fitment.

Shutup Jared, lol. I'm trying to see what other people did in case I can't take it back. Obviously taking it back would be a #1 choice.

Yeah, tried... Didn't work. Same problem, just flipped. I'll consider shaving some of the edges if I can't swap it for another one.

Thank you for being extremely helpful, and typing like a 5th grader.

What do you mean by "mocked up?" Do you have any pictures of yours?

I'm not so concerned with the space between the lip and bumper as I am that it doesn't even fit. I can't really screw it in as it sits. Did you have a similar problem with the rear?

Did you have any problems mounting the rear lip?

The way I mounted mine was with the screws on the sides, then I went and bought a couple of bolts and used those as some support in the middle. I am going to put some double stick tape on it to hopefully quiet down the rattle.

The ENTIRE kit fits horribly. The front lip has major gaps, the side skirts barely fit, and the rear lip was made to short. The only way I see you would be able to get that on without gaps is to sand the inside of the lip. Also, always mount the lip in the middle first and work out.

Sand that corner down and just double side tape it to your bumper. It worked for me.
