Okay, So I have RS3 taillights. But the passenger side one is so messed up. I noticed one day it stopped working. Then I took out it and realised many of the LEDs had fallen out of the little "holders" or "holes." When you look in the little holes, there is rust spots where the LEDs once were. Can I go about just getting a passenger one? Or do I sell the driver side one? Idk what to do. Any help would be great.

 

hmm...maybe those led's just burned out. It is pretty hard to find the rs3.0 headlights. Really up to you to find another one from someone else, but most of the people selling their rs3.0 tails would be sold as a pair, rather than a single one.

 

Thats weird.....Are you sure they are "authentic" RS3 tails??

NOT OEM TYC LED's that were Modified????..Thats why they fell out/ rust there..They were "Baked Open"


Cuz LED's should last 10yrs or So.....Hence why car companies switch to LED's...

 

Try replacing the LED's and clean out the part that's being rusted and see if it works again. I would try anything and everything to fix those tails, they are very rare to find.

 

exactly but even the regular TYC's had that problem but i've never heard of the LED's falling off or rusting, so i'm sure they had to be modified just because of the rust that means that they wheren't sealed correctly and got water and moisture inside which made it start rusting.

the RS3 headlights are the SPEC headlights which are easy to find, now the RS3 taillights aren't.

 

Nope. They were not modified or baked. The girl I used to talk to bought a brand new RS3, and I convinced her to trade tails But now this.. There is a way to replace leds? Or is there somewhere I can ship it to have it done? Maybe i'll go to the dealer with her and just order a replacement.

 

I could post a pic if you guys care to see.

 

go for it, also try putting the lights back on your friends car with the rs3 and have her take it into a dealer and see if they can replace it for cheap that way you don't have to spend too much for the taillight.

 

They want her to pay full price for the taillight.

 

Just buy new tails.

Take that to the dealership, they should replace them if you're still under warranty.

 

Its off my ex's car that was an RS3, mine is not. I was wondering if these LED swap guys could fix this up again for me!

Would somebody be able to possibly aim me in the right direction. I'm willing to spend some money to get this bad boy fixed.
