Default Scion Trunk Lid Emblem Removal

K before you smart guys try to flame and tell me to search... yes i did... i read through about 12 different people asking the same questions. And ZERO accurate answers. I just need to know what you guys did to remove it and if it hurt your paint at all. Only possible thing ive heard is pop it off with a flat-head screwdriver... id like a more detailed response. Will I need to hairdry it to effect the double sided tape? Thanks guys just post answers I really am not concerned about anything else.

ok. easiest way is to get a rag or something to protect your paint and put it under a SMALL flat head screwdriver and pry up the emblem so you're stretching out the tape. once it's stretched out, cut it with a knife, blade, xacto or whatever. do that around the emblem and across the middle. After, you'll have to rub off the tape with a cloth and some sort of adhesive remover like goo gone or something that wont hurt your paint. And then remove the adhesive off of the emblem itself. and voila! you've removed your emblem.

hope this helps.

^ For the record, that's only for the "tC" logo... your scion logo is on there and not going without a fight... it comes off, but leaves a nice hole you need to get molded and filled professionally... even on a hot day, the tC logo can almost be pulled right off with little fingers.

I just talked to a guy about this at a meet last night. He said he used fishing line to his off. I used a couple of jackhole kids with an unknown tool. Lil f*ckers took the Scion right off the back of my car.

Umm.. NO, Tim. Those instructions were for the SCION emblem on the HATCH HANDLE. I've done it on mine and my friends tC. Works better than fishing line, floss, whatever. The only other easier method is using a heat gun to soften the tape and pry the emblem off. I tried using fishing line AND floss before I said screw it and used an x-acto to cut it off.

I just stuck a flathead under the logo (with protection of course) and pried the thing off. I painted it and put it back on with some aircraft grade apoxy...and it won't be coming off. The tC logo was a b*tch. I lit it up with a heat gun, pulled on the logo and all of the adhesive stayed on the car . After 20 mintues of scrubbing, heating, and polishing, it looks perfect. I thought that I had Goo Gone, but when I looked for it, it was missing. The front logo just pops off with a flathead.

I shaved my tC badge, it pretty much came off with no problems, and the Scion logo came off easily too, using a small flat head screw driver except I broke the oval, but oh well. I replaced it with a toyota logo.

I had mine done while it was getting the 2tone paint, he had to fill it and then covered the whole piece with fiberglass, he had tried just filling it, but it kept cracking even after painted

this pic is actually before the fiber glass, cause he also got rid of the slight edge along the bottom, it's supposed to line up with the side body lines, but there is not body line across the hatch so we got rid of it.
