any suggestions to putting on my tint? how to get no air bubbles?

Get it professionally done.

 

The last time I did tint on my own windows I was 16 and had a 18 year old car!
It came out pretty good. The key was using TONS OF WATER or solution. I seem to recall a suggestion on the box.
As soon as it adheres to the window, it's tough to move around.
2 people make the job a whole lot easier.

Back in 1991, it only cost me $70 for tint and labor on the back 3 of my Volkswagen Scirocco. Lifetime gurantee and had no problems even with the defroster wires being slightly corroded. Pay the price and have it done right. You don't want to have to redo tint.

 

I tried to do my own back in the day as well. And like cameron, it was an older car and I was a bit younger (17/18?). I plan on having my tC windows tinted but I would NEVER consider doing it myself. I prefer this look as professional as possible and I'll pay the extra $$ for it.

 

Absolutely, the only advice I'd give is not to do it yourself. Experience makes it look as good as it does, so leave it to those who know how to apply it.

 

don't do it yourself and don't buy that wal mart crap!!

 

I too have been thinking about the same thing, if you go to tintkits.com you can get your car precut so the only other problems are; having a large dust free garage with a/c to apply the tint and the time and patience to do it. Its about 1/3 the price if you think you can do it?

there is application fluid you need to allow the tint to be slid around once it is on the windows....and you have to use it rather liberally.....if you can't find the fluid, use a mixture of baby shampoo and water in a spray bottle.... You'll also need a squeege(spelling?) to get the bubbles out......

when you're cutting to fit, just lay the tint on the outside of the window and put a bright light inside the car, then cut to form the shape of the window... without experience, I'd say have it professionally done!!!
