Default Some idiot dented my Front Bumper on the street..

Overnight. not only is it dented, the bumper is partly unattached from the frame. I hope that person gets hit by a bus.
I have the 2006 Flint Mica tC. Anyone know a good professional place in SoCal LA to get it replaced other than the dealer?

I'm assuming this will cost me 1K easily.

Accidents happen, it's just a part of life, biggest thing that sucks is that we now live in an age where a lot of people don't own up to their actions.
And then try to point the blame in any direction they can to avoid admitting that they made a mistake.

As for the cost of repairing the damage that was done, I'd suggest you talk to your car insurance agent. I think most policies have coverage for incidents like this.

I love it when people hit your car and just drive off, unfortunately I was lucky and had my car parked at my parents house, and my dad decided to hit it with his van. Luckily he has insurance, but the damn company only gave me a $1,300 check.

your rates shouldn't go up. I was reluctant to claim my damages because of the same deal...but they basically told me it wouldn't affect my rates, but I could be exluded from "accident free" advantages, even though the damages I would be claiming were due to no fault of my own. I dropped my car off at the body shop Thurs, and am getting hooked up pretty well. Getting the damages I claimed (keyed down the driver's side from the gas fill to the side mirror, and a dent w/ cracked paint on the fender next to the hood) And they are gonna repair a nice dent from where some mystery chick backed into the passenger rear fender while turning around in my neighbors drive, and dents in fenders from car doors, all for the amount my insurance gave me, minus the $500 deductable. Basically for free.

ok cool that makes me feel better.

quick question before i call them tomorrow.

when i first got my insurance quote they asked me if i park it in the drive way or on the street or in a garage. i said i park in the drive way not in the street.

my car was damaged parked on the street. im wondering if i say i parked it on the street then i have no chance of getting it repaired.

also i have been with them (mercury insurance) for over 10 years and never filed a claim with them and i always paid their bill. i hope that would count for something.

well this looks like its going to work out, hopefully. agent supposed to call me tomorrow. also have an appointment to take the car to the shop tomorrow for an estimate. my car was keyed on the hood and passenger side door so i told them about those too.

if they pay for it all minus deductable i will be one happy guy.

if you have damage from different periods of time, they will most likely require seperate claims for each instance. As in... someone dented my fender AND keyed the the whole side of my car at the same time now my dented in rear fender was obviously a seperate ordeal so I didnt even attempt it...but the insurance dude that gave me my estimate/check advised that whatever bodyshop I went to should give me a good deal on fixing it, seeing as how they should have plenty of paint. (which was the case) So good luck dude.

oh...and the parking ordeal shouldnt matter... I went thru the whole reenactment scenario over the phone w/ my insurance co. Basically, if I dont get to work early enough... I'm stuck parking on the street w/ about 15 other cars...the parking lot is first come first serve. So they understood why I was parked on the street. (needless to say when I get my car back, I'll be getting to work earlier)

well looks like ill be paying a 250 deductable and they are paying the rest. car is in the shop and i should get it back in a few days i guess. they recommended i go to the police station to fill out a report but if i dont need to i wont.

this was an easier process than i thought.

thanks fellas

Don't even waste ur time going to the police, they will just tell u then don't know who did it and that's it.
There's no point of doing that. but good for u man now ur going have a clean tC!
