Default Special edition tc grills

so i've been seen a blue s.e. tc driving around and i'm just getting my car back from an accident Tom. and i wanted the grills that it has on it... toyota is insane for the set it's around $1200 (that aint a typo) and that was the price my dealer buddy at toyotya got.. so if u have a s.e. don't mess up ur grills

yeah they do that so if something does happen its probably covered by insurance. its done so that the RS are special editioned and not everyone will go around with the RS grills and that. i remember that the RS1 top grill was around 500 a pop.... haha thats a hard pill to swallow.

You're better off getting a set of grilles from Grillcraft.com. They have one that looks very similar to the RS 2.0, MUCH cheaper than dealer cost.

I think TRDtC is right about the reason for the insane cost.

Are you talking about the RS grills? Cause there is no special edition tC. There are a lot of dealers slapping on a special edition emblem and selling the car with added options, but they are not scion special editions. It is just a selling ploy.

Sounds like he's talking about the RS2 (mentioned the blue). But ya, as it's been said - they're expensive soe EVERYONE doesn't have them. Same problem with the RS1 grilles - about $1k for the set from the dealer.

I got my RS1 grilles replaced under warrenty because the paint was flaking off them REALLY bad. They still printed me off a bill even though I didn't have to pay anything. The RS1 grilles would have cost me over $1,800 if I had replaced them myself.

just go someplace to get some stainless steal mesh (they have nice sized sheets of it on e-bay for around $40), this stuff is the real stuff that they use on the chrysler 300 and cadillac CTS-V, and thats all the RS 2.0's grille is. I'm looking to reverse engineer the grille and see how its made and such.
