Default Subs killed my third brake light

well i have an 07 tc and i think my subs killed the third brake light... it doesn't work at all... check the plug to see if it was still conected and it was... anyone know any possible tsb's, or something im about 1k from my warranty being gone... and i do have led tailights, will they stilll warranty the work with them in...?

UPDATE: took the car to the dealer and he says because of the aftermarket taillights, they wont warranty it... because it has pigtails to connect to the existing wiring just for the LED taillight, nothing else...does anyone who has the TYC tails from the factory could they show me the back of it where it plugs in to the existing wiring... also the guy started saying well you have a lot of aftermarket things on this car... and it could be been drawing from the stereo... i told him no, the stereo isn't even on the same circuit... as the brake lights, so no...

check the bulb. if it's rattled around too much, they will blow. Then you can ditch the OEM 3rd brakelight and get an LED one like mine!

I would think it's the bulb also.
If the subs were to do anything to the break lights it would effect all 3 of them I believe.

I don't think your subs have anything to do with it. Do you have any idea how many tC owner's have a system in their car? And compare that to how many TBLs fail (not many)...?

Sometimes they just go bad. It doesn't mean it is a widespread problem and it doesn't mean you're totally screwed. See if they'll replace it under warranty. If they won't, hit up Oznium for a full TBL.

There is only one bulb in the factory 3rd brake light. replace it. Otherwise Oznium sells the led one.

thats exactly what i was trying to explain to the guy... he says its a draw from the aftermarket tails... i told him if it is IT WOULD STILL WORK... just be dimmer/brighter... not quit out randomly like it has been doing... so if anyone could snap me a pic of the back of their TYC tails, would be GREATLY appreciated...

tell the toyota guy that there's no way a bunch of LED's draw MORE power than the stock incandescent bulbs that power the stock brake lights.

Sounds like a loose wire somewhere. Do you have the stock tails? Try just plugging those in and see if you're getting flickering with the stock tails. That'll tell you if the problem is in your taillights or in your car somewhere.

My tag light LED swap flickered like an SOB so I put regular ones back in. Annoying as hell.

update:
went over to the dealer the other day and they had a new TBL sitting there... i told them to first step on the brakes with my blown one in and then plug the new one in... and to no suprise the new one worked... well there still on the assumption that its the taillights that caused my TBL to die... i asked them to put a voltmeter on it to see what voltage/ draw it had and they said they would have to charge me labor to dianose it further... i told them to go screw themselves, since i wasn't about to pay 100 bucks more for me to be right, so i took the car and left... anyone got corporates number...?

dealership failure!!! take one of them with you to autozone; cuz they do diagnostics for free on cars. and dealerships wonder why they are hated so much;
