Default Tail Light Overlay Help

Does anyone know any good way to apply the taillight overlay? I know the usual but the curveyness of the taillight doesn't exactly fit perfectly. Do I need a heat gun/hairdryer?

Damn I guess so, I had trouble putting overlay on my side mirror light but with some dryer it worked ok but you can see not everything is fitted properly. I just hope I didn't waste money getting overlay that I'm not even gonna be using.

I feel I wasted my money, I just could not get them 100%. I'm kind of a perfectionist and it urked the hell out of me so I gave up. I still have the TBL on though

Did you soak em in soapy water, then squeegee them out?...then use a hair dryer to help keep the fold on the curves?

I would say spray or paint would be better and easier for you but you can't take it off as easy can you?

i would just say stick with the overlay. it's not that hard to put on. you just have to have patience. and a hair dryer will do the trick.

meeh I just threw away the vinyl, there was no way one can even spread out the vinyl without getting those little airpockets. Oh well money down the drain, at least I can say I didn't even like the color, it was too light and not really light smoked.

Would it matter if I bought it from bluebat though? I mean would his overlay be easier to put on? I really don't want to spray paint my taillights

Save your $$$ and get spray. (Like Niteshades.) That way, YOU control just how dark you want the tails.
Also, spray looks tooooooonnnnssss better than overlays. I tried to apply overlays but they just didn't look right to me.

depends on where you live. if you think you might get pulled over, don't risk it, just do the vinyl. pull it off if you get a fix it ticket. easy.

took me 2.5 hours to do both the lights. Dip in soapy water, squeegee, then use hair dryer to stretch over the edge and squeegee to get the wrinkles out. Didn't come out perfect and the edges started to lose adhesion after 4 months, so I went with spray.

yeah Im going to have to disagree. Ive seen sprayed and overlays side by side and the overlays look so much better. Oh and if you dont like them or the police make you take them over they come right off.
