Overlays still have that glossy look while the spray looks like a flat black sprayed on.

^ Use a clear coat. By the time you have completed applying the overlays with no bubbles/wrinkles...you could have tinted a set of tails, reinstalled them, wet sanded them and buffed them. Oh yeah, and they don't fold over like overlays. That's my opinion.

This whole thing is opinion based.
Some will like spray,
And others will like the overlays.
The end.

How to put them on? It depends on which kit you have, best bet is to follow the instructions included with the kit. Our kit for the tC is not particularly hard to do. The 05-07's are easier than the 08's but both are installed in the same steps. We have had a DIY on our site here http://headlightarmor.com/index.asp?...on=Custom&ID=9 for the tC taillight kits for a number of years.

I am 100% with FLEA. I just followed his write up on how to remove them.

Go buy lacquer thinner, use microfiber towel to rub tint off, and i only buffed with 2 coats of rubbing compound and they look better now than they did when i bought the car, with a glossy shine and glass like texture where my figers slide off.

Did process in about a half hour
