Default Tailight Overlay Question

My girlfriend recently bought me some overlays for my Tailights. I installed them but i am having trouble getting the edges of the overlay to stay down on the light. I have tried using my heat gun to warm the plastic and it works but i slowly comes up. I was wondering if there is a trick that some of yall know about that could help me out. THANKS

you are supposed to heat it when you first begin. did you clean off the outer housing before you started?
if you did the heat afterwards you had installed the overlay then it wont stink anymore its like tape when you handle the sticky part it wont stick.

hope this helps

peace
