If you saw some for the xA or xB... it's b/c people painted them. You'd have to paint yours.

if you're talking about this:

It's just the sticker overlay for the lettering..... and the engine cover's painted.

Here's mine: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=93861

Basically, prep it well - cleaning, very light sanding as necessary. Maybe some high temp paint. Some people use paints for plastics (like outdoor furniture kind of stuff)

its super easy if you have access to a bodyshop. if not you can probably get your local body shop to paint it for 50 bucks. just tell them the color and your set. i work in a body shop and painted mine FM. i sitll have the VVTI letters to do, havnt decided what colors to do them yet...

if you want me to post a pic i will...i havnt actually take one wich is a suprise but let me know

-sand it
-prime it(2 coats i did)

-i did 8 coats of red
-2 c lear coats
wait like 15 mins inbetween caots
and paint at the same stroke through out the whole thing
lacking confidence?

wow..and how long did that take you? it sounds time consuming. the only reason i say bodyshop is because i work in one. that and i didnt need to do 8 coats of anything...nor did i need to primer. scuff...spray..clear...dry. it took me the time to mix up the paint..spray it and let it dry. if you say wait 15 minutes between coats..and you did a total of 12 coats, 12x15= 3 hours....no offence but that is FOREVER, and for an engine cover? to me its not worth my time...but if if it came out good, congrats. i guess i'd just rather pay than spend 3 hours of my day :p

i actually agree with KickAssKishan.....i would much rather paint my own engine cover for like $10 then to pay someone to do it for $50...besides 3 hours is not that long... and you get the satisfaction of knowing that you did the job yourself.....iam gonna paint my engine cover using his advice some time in the summer....it doesnt seem that hard.

i guess if your one of the hand done and proud of it people, then yeah i'd go that rout. wich is awesome on your part. i just am one of the people who dont have that time to do it myself. so i figured i'd suggest an alternitive rout for the people who are like me :-D

is high temp paint actually necessary or can regular paint be used? I want to color match the engine cover and fuse box to nautical blue, but I doubt i can find a high temp version of the paint code.
