Anyone catch the tC that made the ImportTuner cover. I have seen it on ScionLife before, and personally I don't care for the decals it has on it (looks like it's crowded), but nonetheless, it made the ImportTuner cover. Strike up another one for our TC.

Yeah, that's the one. I enjoy the work that went into it. I just think it's a little overboard on the decals. Cool car though. We hope to grace a mag with our CF tC.
its a nice car, but its a fine example of a good business-marketing, not tasteful car modification. at what point do you turn your car into a rolling advertisement for anyone who gives you a hook-up? to me its not much different than people who get paid to plaster gigantic ads (for insurance, toothpaste, album, etc) over their cars.
to me there's nothing custom or rare (hard-to-find parts even if you got $$$) about the car.

its true though, that car doesnt really have anything magazine worthy done to it, yet peeps just putting it in mags because it is a tC and htey need to show there support for it.. i mean take tony's car for example, that is show worthy... it has interior/exterior/engine/suspension mods...

Yeah I dont dig the stickers. But what I really dont dig is the way its done. I like to see cars in these magazines that someone took time and money to build up. Like a normal person.
Not some car that was sponsored and taken to a shop and thrown togethor without planning and months of contemplating what wheels to throw on it. Any rich person, or corporation can get a car and throw it togethor in 4 weeks and put stickers on it.
How about they put a daily driven to work car on there. Driven to work that gives you a paycheck to modify the car.

I think it is daily driven actually. The guys dad drives it, as it was a gift for his dad. That's what the article said. Upon reading the article, and besides the Turbonetics kit on it, I think this car was modded with an array of products that you accquire from Carsponsorships. That and the big Carsponsorships decal on the front windshield says it all. I know, because I too, applied to Carsponsorships, and I have a selection of the same products.
IE...Blankpunkt (spelling?) speakers, R-blox sound deading, Blankpunkt dvd screen, etc...

If those stickers are all over it, its sponsored and payed for. If its not sponsored then the owner is a poser. Eitherway, I would love to see a car on there that was built by a a daily driver, and payed for by him aswell.
Just like SEMA and all. Those cars are nice but dont impress me. Of course Greddy can put a nice looking car togethor. Thats what they do. Those cars are nothing but an advirtisement. How about the 20somthinng old guys who lay in bed wondering if they should put the viniati spoiler on or the pedestal spoiler? Or the people that stare at the computer on hours with two pictures of different style wheels?
Those are the people that read the magazines, why not let them look at each others work?
i think you gotta create something that is truely unique and difficult to replicate. like one-of-a-kind custom work or super rare parts (too bad oem-jdm stuff doesnt exist). i'm sure anyone with a nice job or financial support from parents could re-create that car.
