Bringing this one back from the dead, but figure it might be worthwhile for some.

I just got a notice from Scion saying they know of this issue and are covering it for up to 7 years, or 1 year from getting the notice. Comes with a sticker for in your car to show the coverage as well.

Now if I can just get one for my xB as well.

Did they mail it to you? I did a fix on my hatch last year that is about to fail.

Yep at first I saw the envelope with the Scion logo and warranty info, and assumed it was a junk co trying to sell extended warranties.

Turns out it was a letter from Scion, I'll scan it tomorrow and post it.

I also had emailed them, and they said I should be getting a letter for my xB in addition to the wifes tC. this is good as mine is starting to come off on my box.

I am the second owner of my Scion I wonder if I will still get the letter.

Got this notice 4 years too late. Already replaced mine 3 years ago.

Hey guys,
So as most of you I have been ____ed about my trunk hatch breaking. The rubber sticks together on the side of the trunk, resulting in the hatch popping off. In regards to the note, I contacted Scion about it at 866-707-2466 and told them about the forums.
They said as of March 2013 the hatch will be replaced at no charge if you contact your dealership. I would call that number first to get a reference number to bring to the dealership though. Good luck!
