I got Luminics Ultra White (5150K) for my headlights and they are OK. Not bright at all, but it's sure hella white though. I might get the Titatinum White from Luminincs, a step up to 5500K. I noticed that when it turns on, it's kinda blueish, but after awhile, it turns white. I had Silverstars, I liked them and they were actually pretty bright but kinda turned yellowish after awhile. I only drove with my stock headlights on for like less than 2 hours and took them out immediately after I got the car, cuz I do not like the yellowish color. I even changed my front turn signals to white.

What did you guys suggest is the best bulb to get that will get you a super white light plus really good brightness regardless of price?

and...

Is there any bulb that will cast a blue reflection from far away when you're looking at an oncoming car and turns out white when you get closer? Like those ones on the Acura TL/TSX?

Thanks.

This is what it looks like when Luminics Ultra White Low/Highbeams are installed plus PIAA Xtreme White Turn Signals. It actually looks ALOT bluer than this. I took this picture at night.

This is with the Luminics Ultra White and Turn Signals on:

yes, a projector, not a reflector. it will be costly to do correctly. an example is HERE.

I have 9012 bulbs as my fog lights and low beams and 9011 bulbs as my high beams. They aren't as white as some people may want them to be but they are very bright. I get a good number of people "flashing" me at night thinking I have my high beams on.

Where do you get that from? I have had mine for close to 2 years now. Actually, I just went to Sylvania's website and found where you got that from. I know mine have been used for more than 150 hours....Knowing my luck, they will end up popping next week.

Don't waste your money on the CoolBlue, just get the SilverStars. Just not enough of a difference from OEM to CoolBlue. Had them, liked them, replaced them with SilverStars, loved them.

www.eurodezigns.com has good bulbs. lifetime warranty which you can't find everywhere. and not only that.... if you send them ONE busted one, they send you a new PAIR back! i think it's $7 to replace them for shipping on warranty replacements. the site says 6000K bulbs. i got 8000K bulbs on ebay. same manufacturer. same warranty.

I've had SilverStars in my wife's RAV4 for about three years now - still going.
I have GP Thunders in my tC - white for the lows and yellow for the fogs.
White light is what you need, and as was said above, blue/purple bulbs suck and only have poseur value.
Run those things and then go back to stock or SilverStars and you'll see what we mean.

Default PIAA Super Plasma GT-X low beams

I got a pair of PIAA's 9006 Super Plasma GT-X bulbs. If your looking for the closest thing to HID, I would say go with these. they are from Japan and only a few places sell the real thing. The lights have a white/purple color to them.

Eh. Yes and no.

I DO have the Cool Blues, and no they are not 'blue'.

However, they are much, much more whiter than stock bulbs.

Go to an autopart store and you'll see that Sylvania basically makes 3 kinds of bulbs:
Stock replacement, Cool Blue, and Silverstars. The white/brightness and price follows in that order too. I'm pretty sure the stock bulbs we get w/ the tC are the cheapest Sylvanias, the 'stock' ones.

I went with cool blue because I wasn't so willing to spend so much money on headlight bulbs, Cool Blue's kind of sat at the right price point (they cost twice as much as stock, half the price of Silverstars), and were whiter than stock, so that's why I got them. I've had no problems with them so far.

For people who get others 'flashing' them... not your fault. One of the first lessons I learned in Drivers Ed so many years ago is you don't look at oncoming traffic headlights. A lot of people are stupid and do anyway...and they're the ones who end up flashing you. They should be looking straight, not at your headlights, so f_u_c_k em.

On the flip side, if you have an older-model car with adjustable headlights, many people forget that they're suppose to adjust the housing and make sure the light is pointing DOWNWARDS toward the road (belive it or not, this is law in most states). How many a-holes in jacked up trucks forget to do this? Damn rednecks. It's sad when I can't look in my side mirror and not get blinded.

Cool pic, what bulbs are those?

My PIAA's burnt out, so right now I have silverstar's in.. They were on sale at discount auto, $31 for a set.

They look decent, not much brighter then stock while your in the car. Has a nice look on the outside though, whitish with a slight purple tint at a certain angle.
