Default tC Nosebra

I searched but didn't find much. Any suggestions on a nosebra for my tC? The highway is killing my paint. I don't think a clear one will work because I already have a ton of chips and I'm afriad it would bubble.

Don't use those canvas or leather Bra's!..they will scratch ur paint!!....The clear bras claim they wont discolor or bubble etc...If I did a lot of Freeway driving I'd get the Clear Bra stuff..

a clear bra will not bubble if installed correctly. granted, your current chips can't be fixed much after it's applied.. but it will protect it from future chips, as that is what a few friends have done.

it's difficult if you want to apply a clear bra to a flawless brand new car, as the paint must be cured long enough before application

there's always gonna be a few small chips underneath the bra or so because of that.

and most clear bras won't discolor as well.

I have always HATED the leather bra but I bought one. I got it from the dealership. Its a two piece carbon weave style bra. I dont leave the bumper one on but I leave the hood one on.

I know people who have KILLED their paint from these bras. Here's the secret:

-ALWAYS wash before you put it on.
-Put at LEAST two coats of wax.
-Take it off after it rains. (The water underneath is what causes most of the problems.)
-Don't leave it on forever. Take it off every week or so, granted it doesnt rain. When it rains, it needs to come off.

Now I'm **** about my paint. I dont have a single swirl mark in my paint and Im very proud of it. I used this bra for a week while i was up in boston. I dont have a single scratch, bubble, or mark on my hood. Its now been a month. I take it off when I wash, wax underneath it every time I take it off and it works like a dream. I just couldnt afford that clear bra!

I recommend it IF you do it RIGHT.

x2^^, I bought my front end mask off of McGeorge. Cost 122 plus s/h. Not bad. It is a pain in the a$$, but it works great. Just listen to what "lilitaliankid" said.

I appricate everyone's input. I think I'm gonna go with the leather one but now I know what to look out for (thanks lilitialiankid!). I couldn't find a dealer around here who would install the clear bra and I really just want it for long road trips. I have to drive to Boston in a month and I already have enough stone chips as it is!

you could try a magnetic bra, heres a post i did a littlewhile ago, but i didn't get it because my car is always outside and i didn't want a darker area under the magnet as the sun bleaches the paint over the years.

I feel like the magenetic bra would work well, but is there a fabric between the magnet and the paint? Otherwise I think that could be pretty bad for your paint. They even have a sprayabvle temporary bra from dupli-color. I don't understand how it works, but it washes off with soap and water. Wierd.

Tha leather one has a cotton-y fabric between the paint and the leather. Helps reduced paint damage.

Yes I hate these types of bras too but I only bought one for long trips and works wonderfully. I bought mine from here for $60.00 http://www.formyauto.com/
Just make sure when you wash the car you take the bra off and wash under it too since it sounds like youll be having it on all the time.

I would still look into some quotes on repainting the front end and getting a clear bra.

I had the Scion bra on my tC for about 6 months with no scratches or discolorations. I took it off every 2-3 weeks to wash and wax. I finally gave up on it and got a clear bra installed.

very very true.

I don't think I would have the time nor patience to try to install that myself... The leather will have to do.

I've been thinking about getting some type of removable bra... not as a permenant fixture (I think cars look best naked ;)) but rather as something to have for extended highway trips and vacations and such, so my plan is to keep it off the majority of my DD'ing time

Is that the LeBra one you have? Seems I have to select an 06 tC as they do not have anything for any 07 Scion :D

And is all leather enough to protect against "normal" rocks and debris?

I heard LeBra doesnt fit well and flaps in the wind.I would just get the one in the dealership, or online ya know OEM.

I like my OEM bra because it lifts AND seperates !
