Default tC rear hatchback panel broken

Fellow tC owners, Im having trouble with my rear hatchback panel where the unlock button is housed. It recently broke while I was hitting the button to open the rear hatch and the whole panel just broke off completely. Im still ____ed about it. Since their isn't a way to take off the panel due to the unlock button wiring still being connected. i just super glued it for the mean time. Is there anybody else who's had this problem with their tC??? Your help on how to repair or where to find another replacement for a cheaper amount from what the dealership charges....let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

I've never really taken one apart so I'm sure somebody else will chime in, but when I was putting in my tbl i'm pretty sure it looked like there were 2 philips screws holding the switch to the garnish.

I have a 2006 tc 2.0 release and I broke off the rear panel about 4 weeks ago. I have mine duct taped because it is in 3 pieces. I was hoping to find a place to get parts, an suggestions. I have thought about rebuilding it with fiberglas from the inside, then bondo the seams and see if I could get it repainted to match the car color. One paint shop said it it sometimes hard to match limited car colors, but could work with it to blend colors. I AM OPEN TO BETTER IDEAS ? ? ?

This happened to me back in February. I have a 2005 tC and I guess it was just too cold one day and I went to open the hatchback and the whole piece just snapped off. I've had it duct taped on but that's falling off now that it's getting hot out. I guess I need to try superglue. I did try to take out the button as well and just remove the whole piece but that doesn't seem to be very easy. There sure are two screws holding it in, but that's not the only thing it seems. And the dealer wants $250 to replace it
