Tinted tails question?
I'm thinking about buying some tinted TYC's off one of the members on here. The white LED section is untinted, so I'm pretty sure I can get away with it ticket wise here in Va. But I heard that if someone rear ends you, and says that they couldn't see your brake lights due to the tint, it than becomes your fault. Anyone else heard of this or had it happen to them? Again I'm in Va.
Ya man especially if they say they couldnt see your brake lights..i like the look just didnt want to keep drawing unwanted attention my way..i got pulled over for them..but i would check your laws and if the tint is within scope of the law than you could fight it..but if it is illegal and some one hits you..im sure your screwed..
Spray light coats both on the tails and TBL. I over did mine and laid down 3 heavy coats but my TBL has a couple light coats. I've been observing my rear-view mirror since day one and people seem to stop at the regular distance during day and night as if my lights were un-tinted and they are heavily tinted so I would say only a complete moron or someone who isn't paying attention at all would use the excuse of your tail lights whether its a technically valid reason or not.
Considering the law though, by the books, its illegal..period. Some LEO's don't care to pull people over for it and some do..I've been fortunate so far *knocks on wood* ..even around Troopers..which I consider them Traffic ****'s lol.

hahaha. Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna get them. The only reason I asked is that I already have an accident under my belt (which I was supposedly at fault for), and don't want to be at fault for another one, especially if they are the one's who hit me.
I have two accidents under my belt and a couple tickets lol..but thank goodness the stupid lil things don't stay on your record permanently.
Anyway just keep the above in mind..consider it a warning, if you will lol but of-course not legal advice. I think when I get the time I'm going to redo mine a lot lighter as it makes me a bit paranoid.
