Default TRD Springs on stock shocks

Hey guys I am planning to get TRD springs for my 08 Tc and I was wondering if I get the TRD springs and use it on stock shocks would it harm the shocks in long run? I know other springs which realllllyy lower the car do the damage but what bout TRD's?

trd springs are too extreme of a drop, most definately you will need to upgrade the struts, alignment and make sure to get a camber kit, since that TRD drop is gonna give your wheels negative camber up the wahoo.

I could be wrong, a simple search should get you an answer.

yes any aftermarket springs will harm ur shocks but the TRD drop is not that extreme. Many people have rode on them for over 50,000+ miles with no problems. I went about 20,000 with no problems then decided to switch to coilovers. I would recommend you to get new shocks if you consider to get springs because your shocks will get more bouncy in the long run but it does depend on the roads and how you drive also.

I've been rollin on Hotchkis w/stock struts for the past ~6K miles. Struts are still good. I'll probably have to get different struts at about 20K miles i think.

I have TRD springs with stock shocks. Still waiting for my stock shocks to go bad so I can switch to TRD shocks. It's been 90,000 plus miles and I'm still waiting...ans waiting...

your shocks will probably last about as long as they would with stock springs. if people can run stechs for 40k miles on stockers TRDs should be able to go forever. ive had my trd's on stock shocks for 10k miles and ive jumped my car and flew over railroad tracks and hit potholes and dips at high speeds and my shocks are FINE just like brand new.

just a reminder that everybody who owns a tC already has coilovers, what you really mean is that you want adjustible coilovers or upgraded to adjustible coilovers.
