Default Underbody LED install ideas

What I am looking for is a couple things.

1. How people ran their wires into the cab of their tC for LED underbodies. I'm just looking for ideas.
2. Pictures of the bottom of the tC. I'm curious to see what It looks like since I haven't really got underneath it.

Thanks

All i can say is good luck with the front. Not that its hard, just that tc's front is not made to hide or put a front tube in the front of the car. Xb you can hide nicely, not the tc's

I have my plans for the front :D
I'm mainly concerned with the way some people get the wires into the cab, specifically for the Varad LED kit.

The way I'm most likely going to do it is mount the box under the center console arm rest section, run the wires up into there, then seal it all up when the wiring is done.

But if anyone has other idea's, please let me know.

I also was wondering when i installed mine but i figured a not of a bad way too do it after all. But maybe some guys wont like the idea because drilling is involved.

First with the rear led wire i ran all under the car up to the front wheel well alone with the driver side led wire. Second the front led wire i ran it up through by the battery then by where my intake runs by theres a whole you can run i through where it leads to the front drivers wheel well.

After That remove the front drivers wheel well cover completely, which is just clips you take off with a flat screw driver.

Then after you've done that by the driver side inside the car remove the bottom cover panel where your left foot sits next too, then pull the wires that are clipped in which are easliy too pull. after you done that you have a good amount off space there which is where your wires are going to come through from the outside.

After you've have all the wires there I removed the Front left wheel well cover completely Then i drilled a 1/2 hole (depending what kind of wires your running through...i ran amp wires and led wires) on the bottom which goes directly into a space where it leads to the inside of you car. BUT BECAREFUL when drilling! MAKE SURE YOUR DRILLING WHERE ITS GOING TO LEAD INSIDE YOUR CAR!
( will be adding a suspension led kit so i'd need a little bigger hole for additional wires so keep in mind what your putting through there)

But you might fall into a problem with the wiring it might be too short for the right led to come around so what i did was just ran it through by the passanger door jam and then through the rubber boot by making a hole and slipping it through.

The space is also great to run your amp wiring if adding a sound system and additional wires for other lighting etc. Like i just bought and will be installing led suspension lighting and will have enough space to run it through the same whole! I HOPE SO

After getting all your wires through there YOU NEED TO ADD RUBBER OR WHAT I USED WAS PLASTIC TUBE AROUND YOUR WIRES FROM KEEPING THEM TO RUB OPEN AND TEAR APART FROM THE SHEET METAL! Also using a bike tube from a wheell and placing it around! AND AFTER PLACING THAT add silicone around the wires and rubber to have a good seal!

Well I HOPE THAT HELPS ANYONE OUT! ITS ALOT OF WORK BUT I THINK IT CAME OUT PRETTY DAMN GOOD! AM HAPPY HOW IT CAME OUT!

Thanks TQT
I look forward to that.

As for running wires all around the underside of the car, I'm not a fan of that. I'm more a practitioner of "Get the wires inside as fast as you can." I don't care if I drill holes really because I'm looking at this as more permanent than anything. Yeah, I may caulk it and sound deaden it after, but that stuff can be ripped open again.
It's got to be clean, like people gotta look at it and wonder How'd you get that in there like that?"

As promised, a few photos....

First... the ugly switches i had...

Now, the nice looking OEM switches...

OK, the hook up to the ignition wire...

The wires running down after the switch...

Where i drilled the hole for the wire to run outside the car...

Where the wire comes out...

The front LED...

the rear LED...

and where the wire runs down along side the car...

Ill have more pictures tonight of how bright these LEDs actually are. Ive had them on the car for a year, they have survived snow, rain, potholes, buggie monsters, and volcanos, and i have had 0 problems to date.

Hope these pics help!

might as well add in some of my pics..

my control box...

how my wires get into the inside...

the rear bar...drilled in zip tie holders...

the side bar...again drilled with zip tie holders...

the front bar, put two zip ties together and wrapped them around that main bar you see there...makes my grille light up though, which you may not like or want...and i had to remove the black plastic piece beneath the engine...you may not want to do that either but here ya go...

Ill post up some of mine tomorow. Same basic principal, but I used the channel in the front and you cant see any of the tubes unless you are level or less than level with the bottom of the car!

I'll try, but it's been raining here for 4 days straight, so the ground just reflects the light. Doesn't look good at all.
Not supposed to let up again until monday, maybe tuesday.

BTW, mine are installed, but I have a 4-led issue on one of the tubes.
I'm talking to my sales person tomorrow and hopefully will have a replacement soon.

Let me just talk about how I installed them.

Front, I attached it to the bottom of the plastic tray. I had to drill 2 new holes, and I ran zip ties through them to hold it up.
Sides, that's easy. Brackets drilled up into the car. Wires were ran over to the 2 rubber plugs in the underbody that are under the driver/passenger feet.
The back was mounted to the piece that has the clips holding the bumper on. I drilled straight up so it went through the plastic and the metal. The wire was ran up through a rubber plug that sits under the spare tire.

All wires were ran under the carpet to the center console where I have the LED control module in the bottom. The control switch comes out of there and the wires run through the hole for the aux plug (I took it out since I don't use it) and it is mounted to the console between the brake and the cupholders sitting as far back as possible.

Tomorrow when It's light out I will take pics of the install, and later, the kit turned on at night.

to got nice pix in the dark you can set yuo camera to night pix and turn off the flash... the had thing is keeping the cam still. becuase the shutter will close slower for Night pix.. so its best that you use a tripod..

easiest way is to go under the hood. on the firewall behind some piping there is a Rubber grommit where all your wires come in to the steering colum. carefully cure a little hole in there and feed it threw to the underside of your dash...it is a piece of cake. and hides them...PERFECT
