Undercar lighting
I just installed an undercar lighting system in to my car, I have a system from StreetGlow, and one of the features it includes is a courtesy lighting system.
I have an 07' and couldnt find a wiring harness so I tried just using a multimeter to find which wire in my wiring harness that controlled weather or not the dome light came on. I can not find which wire it is. If anyone knows which one it is I would be greatly appreciated, also if you have a picture that would greatly help. Thanks
(not sure if this should be aero or ice but since the kit is outside the car I thought I'd try aero)

OK... first issue is that the dome is a negative lead activated light... which means that it has a positive lead on at all times and when activated, a negative lead turns on to it... I'll get you the pic of where it is at in the interior assembly...
TADA....
the 12v is always on, the negative comes on for the dome and such....

Ah, so thats why the control unit wouldnt accept the power for that.
I'm looking at the instructions here for the unit and it says that the wire (its only one wire for the courtesy) is + and is triggered with a +12v.
So since we have a constant +12v and the negative switches it on, what do I need to do to make it work.

Okay, I just went out and did an expirement.
I hooked my courtesy wire up to the negative lead in the picture, it was opposite of the dome lights... when the dome light came on the underglow went off, and when the dome light went off, the underglow came on...
I thought perhaps, that all I would need was a device that when the positive and negative were both on that it would send out the positive. For some reason I think this is extremely simple, but I can not for the life of me figure out what device this could be...
Thanks in advance

don't try this without further support, but what if you hooked it up to the negative commin gout of the underbody unit? will underbody controllers work with reversed polarity?
I'm not sure that that will work, I have been testing a lot of things, and actually right now I have it wired up to the driver door switch and its working, but I want to find a better way, cause I dont like how the install is done off of this one.
The negative coming off of the underbody kit is a constant negative, its run on a constant negative and a constant positive with an ignition wire to tell when the key is on, for when I have the ignition on, stopped or driving.
I'm thinking I might be able to use a transistor to take the pulsed negative for the dome light and use the positive so that when there is a circut I can get the positive signal. I know an electronics guy in town and i'm going to consult him tomorrow.
*EDIT*
I just got this to work, I finally figured out how to do it, I just took a relay to take the constant positive and switched negative to produce a positive when both were on. Thanks to everyone who helped me.
