What does Meg's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner do? I know it's step one of the lineup they have but isn't clay used to clean the paint?

Clay is used to remove oxidation, road surface grime, overspray, and other elements that could damage a daily driver. When you use a clay bar on your car, keep in mind that you are removing those contaminants as well as previous applications of wax or polish. It is VERY important that after you clay your car to follow it up with a waxing. Just because you clay your car doesn't mean that the job is over, a good coat of wax applied properly will help enhance the shine and protect your car's paint.

The Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner helps to remove tough water spots that are caused by rain or hard water in some communities. It also safely removes road grime, surface contamination, light oxidation, swirls and light scratches to restore damaged and dull finishes. Prepares all paint finishes for polishing and waxing.

For cars that rely on metallic flecks for their power, ICE or NXT is a good choice. Both of those are very shiny and really allow flecks to pop. Of those two, I prefer ICE because it's much more easily applied and removed as NXT behaves like conventional waxes where you have to wait for it to haze before you buff off. With ICE, you just slather the stuff on and wipe it off. A definite bonus with ICE is that you can and should apply it directly to trim to clean and protect it. Since I've recently ordered some boutique stuff, I'm using ICE specifically for trim.

On darker colors that are pretty dramatic without flecks those two are blahhh. P21S is AWESOME on dark colors though. It adds a helluva a lot of depth and gives a reflection with a ton of definition.

But that's imo. Waxes depend on personal preference.
