ice is good if you don't havea dark colored car, then it is just a PITA!!!!! I use mothers for my BSP it seems to work the best, in my opinion

 

I'll put a big, loud third FTMFW on that. Once you go to Sonus/Klasse/P21S, you'll never go back to off-the-shelf consumer waxes. I've used NXT, Nanowax, ICE, Gold Class, Meguiars (in red bottle and yellow "professional"), Mothers carnauba & synthetic... and the Klasse/P21s combo is a whole different level of product.

Though if you don't have the money or the time for the gear from Autopia, I say go ICE-- I used it for almost two years on the tC, and still use it on the wife's 'Rolla. Waxing a whole car in 20 minutes and having it come out great definitely indicates a worthwhile product.

NXT and Nanowax are typical synthetics-- they last 3 dry months if you're lucky.

unfortunately not. we used meguiars on your car. the whole process of the autopia requires a lotta time and effort to clean the car. if your down for literalllly a full day like 10am to 5pm or 6pm of waxxing we can do it. i think itsl ike 8 steps

correct for it to be kepy flawless it has to ben done 1 a month. ive been lazy and havent done that so i gotta do the whole process over again :D oki but ill have to drive my car haha.

Or Duragloss Aquawax for the 10 minute application when you're really low on time.

Optimum No-Rinse for the wash. I just started using it a few days ago and its AMAZING! I can wash the entire car with two gallons of water, and don't even need ot be outside. I can wash the car out of the extremely hot Florida sun, and can clean the car in the privacy of my own garage.

It's also MUCH MUCH quicker than a conventional wash.

Collinite, Duragloss, ONR... spoken like a true Autopian.

I would recommend 476S or 885 over 845, but only because for waxes, I prefer a paste over a liquid. Sealants.. you can't get away with a good sealant paste unless it's a polymer saturated paste.

My sealant is Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection. I top it with Chemical Guys' Petes 53. It's funny but these two products I've found are switched in their respective conventional roles as I use the Petes 53 for the shine it gives and the AFPP for the deep wet look. Together, my BSP's pearl flakes sparkle like no other, while still having incredible depth.

When I'm through with my Blackfire stuff, I'm switching to 4 Star Ultimate Paint Protection I think...

But regardless, the OTC stuff, short of Duragloss and Collinite, isn't worth crap to me anymore.

For glazes though, I'd probably go with Meguiar's number 9 or number 7 glaze. Meg's glazes are like, straight oil which is the shiny part of a beauty carnauba wax.

 

I would agree with that. I find its a little hard to get a thing application on the first panel I hit with the 845 and my foam app - which is usually the hood. I usually end up appying it so thick that it never completely buffs off. Even though it looks like it buffed off, I find out differently the next day in the sun; its pretty embarrassing . Strangely, that's the only panel I have problems with. All the other panels buff off just fine!

I guess I'm just not used to the liquid-type waxes.

I think I'd rather have a paste wax too. I think I'll probably be buying a tin of 476S soon. The 845 I bought I gave to my sister to use... so I only used it once.

 

I use p21s FTW! but what are the autopia steps?

 

Strip > Clay > Wash > Restore > Polish > Seal > Wax

At least that's how I did mine.

 

I haven't used 845 but I hear that it can come out inconsistently in the first few working areas. 476S goes on clunkily after you first swish it around in the jar but one "swish" will do at least the whole hood in a nice even layer. It isn't quite as easy as spreading a beauty wax like P21S or XXX Hardcore or Souveran (haven't used this one yet but I assume it spreads well) but for its extreme durability, it's not a bad compromise.

You might run into one problem though, I noticed that on FM 476S sort of dulls flake. In direct sun the flake will still glitter, but the shine is a subdued shine that I personally like, but I know others may not. On black though, 476S renders a clear bright shine and good wetness. I recommend it to everyone who can't or dont' want to wax often. Most people don't bite though since you'd still need to polish before applying...

This is a note for everyone, if you want to save a few bucks on P21S, just go to a Harley store and pick up a jar of S100 paste wax. Same business, different name, different color additives.
