Weird silver paint?
I got my car fixed at the shop the other day. They replaced my bumper, fixed my quarter panel, and painted that quarter panel, all about $1800 worth of work. The bumper looks a different shade of silver than the quarter panel on the right side, but matches a little better on the left side (which they painted). I've seen other silver tC's on the site, and the bumpers don't always quite match the quarter panel, but should I be worried? Is it possible that this certified shop used the wrong color (Silver Streak Mica instead of Classic Silver Metallic)?
Id say ask your shop what paint they used (paint code) because they should have that.... Also depending on how old your car is, its possible your paint has faded enough and they didnt color match.
They might have mixed the right color but sometimes paint will turn out to be different shade after exposing to the sun. Paint reacts to different material thus difference in shade could happen after a while..
It's obviously a different shade, because I can tell the difference on the quarter panel where they blended the paint. Part of my quarter panel is the original color, and the rest looks a shade darker. I honestly think that they used SSM paint on my CSM car. What should I do? Is this something that can ever be fixed? If they couldn't color match it before, do you think they can do it right?
