Default what is the difference between quick wax and quick detailer?

I was at auto zone the other day and saw two spra bottles that has made me confused.
they were meguilars(sp?)

can someone explain to me what the difference is between the two? do they do the same thing? I p[icked up quick detailer, but should I also pick up quick wax?

Ive had my car for a little over a month and the oem lip kit installed after I had the car. So I think the lip kit portion needs to be waxed? Can I use the quick wax or will quick detailer do the same thing?

does quick detailing provide any protecton or does it harm or remove the original wax coat I had from the manufacturer?

spray wax is wax, and it sucks!

spray detailer is just a cleaner (spray on whipe off, then wax) and is the ****! i've cleaned my car when it was filthy with that stuff!

why does the spray wax suck, does it ruin the car finish or something?

A spray wax doesn't clean, generally. A detailer is a cleaner meant for light dust and in-between wax boosting. That is, after a wash, you could detail rather than wax again if you've waxed recently.

Neither will provide good protection. But of the two, the spray wax will provide better protection while the detailer will do cleaning better.

And it's Meguiar's, without the 'l'.

^he speaks the truth =)
the spray wax is meant for more of a temporary protection if you dont have the time at that moment.its to hold you until you can actually wax

the spray wax is garbage. trust me, it gives off the most obscene overspray i have EVER seen. and i have used 2 bottles of the detail spray in one sitting. sometimes i get 2 lazy to wash the car so i whipe it all down with 1 bottle of the spray, then clay bar the car with the other then use either a liquid or paste wax to finish it off. sometimes it looks better then if i wash the car then dry it then detail it then wax it hahaha.

no one still has yet to explain why spray wax is bad, does it ruin the glossy look? does it make it cloudy?

what makes it so bad?

overspray as in the area the spray covers?

i like them both actually

i usually use quick detailer, but im currently using the spray wax. it cleans the car just fine (but then again i dont really let my car get too dirty), and gives it some protection.

to answer your question, the spray was is fine, feel free to use it, it wont damage your paint/clear coat. it will give you a very thin layer of protection. but be careful not to get it on any plastic or rubber, cause it can be a pain to get out
