Hey all just need a quick answer...what is this part called (the one in the red circle) or even better a part number. Mine broke off because the trunk would get stuck when i press on the release button and try to open it. And an estimate on how much it costs would be helpful too. Thanks in advance. And no this isnt my tC...I just google for the pic.

 

It's called a rear hatch garnish. The xb and tc are notorious for breaking. Since its broke you should get a badgeless garnish. Nice and clean if you ask me and I drive an xb.

 

Thanks! Ya I noticed a couple other tc's with the garnish all taped up. Does Toyota sell them without the emblem? I've been wanting to take off the emblems off my car...

 

No they don't. Check the classifieds and search the forums a bit. There are people that are selling them I believe.

well i learned never to throw away old parts cuz they can come in handy later on. Like how I kept an old rim and tire for a spare instead of using the cheap donuts we get where we can only drive 50mph on.

I get the OEM ones all the time for $37 - $65. No cracks, broken tabs, etc.

I can still get the FG badgeless garnishes, however I think I'll sell a few of those to a select few. Those that are actually willing to pay for them painted that is. I am going to spray mine like carbon fiber. Oddly enough it's a lot easier than it sounds. Apply 3 colors; black, silver, and graphite, then clear coat it.
