Default Why Is The Paint Chipping Off After THREE days!!!

so i go to put something in my car just now. and i go to open the passenger side door and i see something on the handle. so i bend down to look thinking it's bird poo or something and it's chip of paint missing down to the friggin metal underneath about the size of the eraser end of the pencil. this is ridiculous. i've had the car since saturday night

I feel you angel, like hours after driving mine off the lot SOMEHOW i picked up 3 chips on the hood, then when it turned three days old it was given a present, a huge rock came from now where and put a unrepairable rock chip in the windshield!!!!!! I LOVE MY TC, but dang if I do not have bad luck with it.

this better be covered under warranty. i'm not gonna complain about any rock chips cuz that's just gonna happen regardless but paint should not be peeling off the door handle. that's ridiculousness

Scions don't have the best paint, but having it flake this soon after buying it is bad. The dealership should take care of that no problem. I have had my car for just over a year now and no peeling. Lots of rock chips, but no peeling or flaking. Good luck.

The chip paint is on the actual handle part?..or on the door?...

if its the handle they can just replace it easy ...If its the actual door...they will have to repaint it or do One hella go spot color cover up...That does suck though...

You are not alone in this! Scion has some of the Sh!@#iest paint you can get on a car! There are quite a few people who have had this problem! Myself being one of them. You are lucky you got a small chip under the handle! I went to a brushless car was and the high pressure sprayers blew a chunk the size of a baseball right off the bumper! Granted it was only a month after i got the car! I took it back to the scion dealership and tired to get it covered under warrenty! It took a while because I had to meet with the regional rep. since he was the only one that could give the ok on a paint warrenty issue. Well all that time was spent for nothing because he said it must have been due to the water getting in under a rock chip or something for a piece that big to come off so I was declined the fix! So unfortunatley I am still stuck with that big chunk missing!

do you wear any rings?

That's the first thing the dealership is going to ask you when you tell them your problem. If you do, I would advise just taking them off for the trip to the dealership so it doesn't become an issue, and think about that in the future.

If it's just peeling, it shouldn't happen ever. I Hope you get it fixed, it sucks having a new car and things like that happen already.

I had the same exact problem, only they repainted my bumper, no questions asked. The paint is total garbage.
