man, i've been saying this for years. a retest should totally be required once you hit a certain age. i dont understand how an old person with fading vision is any better than a 16 year old w/a fresh license and a superman attitude.

I think that once people reach a certain age they should be tested at least once a year if they want to keep driving. Whn I say old I mean 75 and on. My dad is almost 50 and he is still a great driver.
I've seen really old people do the strangest ____ on the road, for exmple:
1. doing 40mph on the freeway then get off the freeway and do 45-50 on the streets
2. waiting to turn in the left lane and not using the turning lane
3. they always pull out in front of aproaching cars
4. takes them 20 seconds to react to a light change
5. can't park worth of poop

Imagine what's gonna happen when all the baby boomers hit 80, we're screeeeewed

There was an old guy in front of me yesterday and he kept stopping at completely random times, right there in the middle of the street. There was nowhere else I could go on the busy street, so I just had to stay behind him and keep my distance. He made a complete stop and then got back up to speed again at least four different times, on a straight section with no traffic signals and no stop signs. When you start seeing imaginary red lights, it's time to stop driving.
