Quote: Well, no one said anything about needing a car to get girls. Just like you don't need a six pack and rocked up arms for that either. But, if you're on the beach, hella swole, you'll get some residual benefit from it, I think. The six pack gets more looks than the kegger, so I'm just saying, in this case, the roofrack is like the keg.

Oh, and the xB rack looks good, but if you painted some of it, why didn't you just paint the whole thing? Woulda looked nicer, IMO.
HAHA!! I'd rather attract the type of girls that ride and find function over form in a vehicle rather than some donut-muncher who gets hot seeing hack-sawed springs and a type-R sticker on the back of something.

TC Yakima Rack
Hey I have a Yakima Rack that is on my Subaru Forester XT (turbo) and I just need the conversion pieces for a TC.. Does anyone have some real closeup shots so that I can see what I need. This is the rack that I have.

Quote: Honestly why would u ruin the car by putting some enormous bracket thing on top of it. Just so u can tote dumb bikes around? Seriously man just buy some 500 dollar pickup truck or something...way to ruin a beautiful ride.
Honestly, I think this is one of the dumbest statements I have ever read.

I could give a rats ___ about what other people thought of what and whatnot I have on my car.

It's your money, spend whichever way you want.

I dont think it takes away from the looks of the tC , I am not sayin it adds to it . But I woudl be nervous about putting a bike or anything for that matter on top of my car , ugh one slip up and you got serious scratches if not dents . But more power to ya bud

dumb bikes!? hey you're dumb. BMX rules, i'm not getting a roof rack but i'm just going to lay down my back seats and put my bike in. if my bike fits in a lancer's trunk, it'll fit in a tC. plus my bike cost way more than that bike rack, i'd only trust something to hold my bike if i see it's value is more than my bike, that includes people.

I dont think he cares about what the car looks like with the rack on top. He needs to haul his bikes, i do the same but did not go that route (i use the wifes car). I actually think it looks cool. I like the look of function over form in most cases. You all need to stop caring about others car and respect others for what they have and what they do. I doubt he feels like getting bossed around by a bunch of people.

I think it looks good and nice bike! I am wanting to get a road bike really bad but they are reaaally pricey!

As of right now I put my 20" bike in the back of my tC. I would get a Yak rack in a heartbeat if it was not so expensive. (Regardless of what the no tC having **** talkers think)

to be honest, I have no idea what pieces are needed, think I only got a clip for the back, other than that it fit fine. give yak a call and they should be able to help you out (there's a specific tC kit). I ended up hacksawing off 1/2" or so of the rear bolts and got rid of the plastic wingnuts in favor of normal nuts and sunroof opens fine, loads of clearance. little noisy, though, and gas mileage definitely suffers.

and no, I don't really care what people think as far as looks are concerned. ITS A CAR PEOPLE!! Even moreso, it's a CHEAP CAR! Putting a bike rack on a ferrari is a crime, and should be punished. Putting a bike rack on a 16k tC shows that Scion is hitting its target demographics and that the vehicle will actually be used to go and have fun.

My kind of girl!!

Nah, not painting it, only addition was a decal about the size of the Yakima of the company I work for, Iron Horse on the opposite side. Don't think it really needs to get painted as the black on the fairing matches the black on the sunroof...

(and why did this get moved??)

It got moved into drag coefficient because that rack anchors your car down aerodynamically... giving it a coefficient of nearly 0 or 9,999,999 depending on what you're measuring. Trust me, I took math in college.

So, does the hatch open with a bike on it? What about without a bike?

wow, went back to this thread for the pics and realized someone left me a question. ooops.

hatch opens fine with or without a bike on it, with my long DH bike the tire rubs the hatch window on full open, but that's not really an issue. just need to close the hatch before taking the bike off.
