Not necessarily. The cobalt is slightly underrated, gets around 200-210 whp, if I'm not mistaken.

Unless the s/c tC is also underrated like that...yeah.

The civic si is just a RSX-S that is 100 lbs heavier with an lsd. I don't think it'll slow it down that much.
You can't tell me that when you take your car with 1/8 tank of gas and fill it up it isn't completely and 100% noticibly slower?! 1gal of fuel is approx. 6.25lbs, 13gals x 6.25 = 81.25. Thus, yes, 100 lbs will be very noticeable!

There is more than hp involved in 0-60 speeds. Horsepower makes top speed and torque gets you off the line. Torque and getting the power to the ground is probably more important than horsepower for 0-60. Heavier cars make torque more important too. The SI is no light weight anymore its almost as heavy as the tC and like most Hondas doesnt make much torque. For a race from 0-60 I bet its a close race. From a roll the tC may beat the SI. Longer races like with speeds over 60 the SI is going to pull away because of the higher hp. Another similar comparision is the Mercury Muarder with the 4.6 V8 and the old Chevy Caprice LT1. The cars are similar in size and weight. Mercury makes way more hp. The Chevy makes way more torque. The Chevy is faster off the line and the Mercury can probably run it down in longer races.

Again, I am not too concerned if it out runs the tC, but people need to get thier arguments straight... stated HP is MAX HP and tells absolutely nothing of the entire torque curve. THAT is why you cant even guess 0-60 times from a max HP or TQ rating.

^^ Actually, I got plenty of posts to lock and move.

It's these splits that are a PITA.

So... back to that request for 0-60 times with the SC... anyone?

I thought I saw 7.2 on a stock n/a car and 6.7 in your post n/a aaron. That means the sc car should land you in the high 5's to mid 5's.

yeah but keep in mind the s/c will probly break traction easy so they might have crappy 0-60 times but some good tires and man its got to be fast lol

Dead on man I am used to the traction problem, I used to run an 1987 toyota corolla fx16 gts at 1800 lbs with a 170hp 4agze supercharged engine and she could rip them through 4th hahaha. I am currently building a new fx16 gts which with motor and tranny will weight in at 2000 lbs and run right at 300whp. Still trying to figure out how in the world I will manage to put it to the ground even with an lsd and slick but one thing is for sure, it will be fun!

Off topic sorry, but here is a pic of the new engine "1999 caldina 3sgte" which is going to be fully built for scca running a gt2871r. I just want 300whp in the car and I will be happy Also here are some photo's of my older fx16 gts with hella modified 4agze in it.
