Default 06 Clutch Problems

This morning after driving 15 minutes I pulled up to a stoplight and had a hard time getting the car into gear (any gear!) with the clutch pushed in. I turned the car off, put the car in 2nd gear and started. The clutch dragged a bit with the pedal to the floor but once I got going it was ok. I pulled of the road but everything seemed normal so I continued.
Leaving work today from a cold start the car would not go into gear. I tried the same procedure and could intermittently get the car to work ok, sometimes not. Has anyone experienced the same? I'm off to the dealer tomorrow - just looking for any feedback on similar experiences.
Thnx

sounds like it might be the Clutch release or throw bearing. One thing that is really weird, with the car in first gear and the clutch slammed to the floor the veh will drive forward. Basically the clutch will not disengage, so even with the clutch in the veh is still in gear.

Clutch fluid piggy backs off the brake fluid bowl and is fine. Pedal tension and all was ok. No smoke but I didn't leave in the 'slipping' mode very long. 14K miles.

good luck with that....i have no idea, unless its something with the clutch lines or whatever makes it disengage....maybe in the throwout bearing, if its noisy

rare for a car with 14k miles, even if your mean to it...

Yeah I drive the car similar to an old grandma in a caddy. Not too fast. Its frustrating being a new car. Im keeping all the parts the dlr removes, b/c I KNOW the clutch and Flywheel will not be burnt like there saying. A burnt clutch wont go into gear and shift. If a clutch was burnt you wouldnt have any issues with disengagement, the clutch wont engage at all if its out....eh ill have pics of the parts once I get them back.

almost sounds like your push fork is frozen. but if that were the case your pedal wouldn't move or you would have a leak.

oh and if they warrenty it, you won't get the parts. toyota does. you can ask to see them before they are shipped off though.

Hey Dlr just called and let me know he is going to cover it under warranty. The interior Clutch pads had completly disinegrated and locked the clutch. Basically the clutch and flywheel were eternally locked and would not seperate because the pads were gone. Yeah sooo this is excellent news I almost feel i should spend the $900 bucks on something else for the car because I was ready to accept the cost. Eh maybe ill just pay for some tuition with it haha but cars are so much more fun.

sounds great I had a fealling they would cover it since mileage is so low (I'm assuming under 60,000). it was probably just a poor clutch out of the batch.

any way congrats. and put it into the car, you had that plan anyway so stick to it.
