i would say no... because the si is a performance oriented car (engine, suspension..) while the tc is not.

I think the Si would be considered a factory tuner.
But hey, thats why Scion created performance options

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=108776
With its big torque advantage over the Civic Si, we expect the Scion to be quicker in a straight line but the Honda has a couple advantages. One is a six-speed gearbox that allows it to run shorter gears to keep the revs up. The other advantage is the Si's standard limited-slip differential which allows the Honda to get its torque to the pavement more efficiently.
With the Si going for a mere $19,990 for everything but a navigation system, $26K for a 2006 Scion tC Supercharged is hard to swallow.

the reason you get him on the take off is because our cars have a lot of low end torque... more than the SI but in the long run we get murdered.

Define class.

2-door "sporty" compacts. Yes.

Performance class - Generally, yes. Both are FWD, 2 door, NON-sports cars. Both understeer like a beyotch, both are reasonably quick in a straight line...but not fast.

Are we the fastest accelerating in our "class" ? - Nope.

Just a lot of subjectivity here.

Other examples of "our class" --- Eclipse / Celica / Tiburon

Is it "best in class" - Maybe bang for buck in terms of quality, MPG, and acceleration.... but it is NOT the fastest accelerating, not the best MPG, etc. Perhaps best in build quality, but that's subjective.

----

So i guess it just depends on who you ask. Keep your racing on a track. Don't end up in jail.
There is nothing sporty about a tC. The tC is in the same class as the Civic EX, Cobalt LS, Neon...it's a compact econo box. Get your head out of your ___ if you think the tC is a sports car.

Sorry for the bump, but just read the road and track data panels, and I think it will be very clear the Si is a step above the tC.

If you are going to turbo your tC and do it right with the right parts, this is generally what your dyno will look like compared to the si's A turbo tc makes an SI seem VERY slow on the street.

And the reason you get him off the line is because under 5750 rpm the tc kicks the crap out of the si hp & torque wise. After than, the si will run away.
