as far as we know no new changes have been made since the 07 version of the engine.. which was a pretty decent overhaul if ya ask me

 

to my knowledge, the only single difference between 08's and 09's are the interior fabric color

 

seriously? who the hell are the people answering questions like this?

and the engine from any tC will fit into any other year tC, it is just the ECU and MAF sensors that will really be different, but it will fit, no problem at all.

i know they changed it in 07 becuase my 08 is different from the 05-06's

 

first off....scion/toyota won't change the engine on the tc...why? because the 2az-fe is hot sauce......thats why

you can do it....close your eyes and use electric tape...i'tll be fine

 

i think it was i that siad that you couldnt put an 08 in an 09, but u misunderstood my comment i think. the motor will fit its just won't smog i believe because u r putting a and older motor into a newer car. when i was a honda boy i rememeber that fact when doing engine swaps. someone correct if i am wrong, but i am pretty sure thats correct

it doesnt matter, they dont smog in IL anymore.
they just plug in your OBDII to make sure your dont have any CEL's and your on your way.

That's essentially correct here in Cali, if engine is newer than car ok, but engine older than car is not allowed, iirc. Apparently other states may not have such restrictions.

 

How about this question. Would the 2AZ-FE fit in a 4th or 5th gen camry
