Default 2006 Scion tC..

Hello all! firstoff I am no "Pro" , just a regular girl with with 2-3 questions about my Scion Any help would be appreciated. Anyways...1st question, is the 3 part fuel induction system service really needed, or at least needed
to be done by the mechanics? Cuz it costs like 89.99. could I just buy it myself and do it? or do they have a "special" cleanser. 2nd I don't know how much a coolant is, but is it best to have it changed at the mechanic , or can I do it?

YES, I am trying to save money

Thanks!

No, the fuel cleaner isn't needed. unless you use really crappy gas. Also why
are they changing the coolant did something break? Toyota coolant is pretty cheap.

No coolant keeps the engine from melting. the A/C in the tC doesn't get very cold. This isn't related
to forced induction tho so a mod should move this to.... I guess just the general forum.

Thanks Syldrin. sorry about the uninformed questionssss and for posting in the wrong place...
Oh and just to clarify I was confusing the coolant with the freez-on thing ... the coolant is the pink liquid , correct?
Ill just take care of the oil change and the coolant then.
Thanks

mods need to take care of this.

MBS42188 I suggest getting a friend that has automotive experience to ride along along with you and make sure you don't get ripped off with services you don't require.
Hope you get the right things done. Services today can be a bit pricey.

And in a lot of cases...unnecessary.

THNAKS!
Fuel cleaner def is not needed. mostly what they do is hook up a tube into ur air intake pipe and let the cleaner go thru the throttle body. what its supposed to do is clean off all of the carbon deposits that ur engine valves have accumulated over the time. is it totally necessary, imo nope, but its not gonna hurt anything if u did do it. my recommendation is to change the spark plugs at the same time due to the fact that the chemical is so strong, that it has a tendency to shorten the life of ur spark plugs. again, is it totally needed, not at all. as for the coolant, the Toyota dealership i work at suggests to do it between 60k and 70k miles. i hope this helps u out a lil bit. and FYI, DONT LET A SHOP TAKE ADVANTAGE OF U BC UR A LADY...lol
