Default 2008 Headers different and what else??

Is the header different on the 2008 from the 2005-2006? I know the intake is but what else performance wise?

Also I notice that the 2008 seems to have better traction then the 2005. When my 05 was new I was able to spin the tires in 3rd and 2nd. I can barely spin them in 1st with the 08, anyone else notice a difference?

The intake and header are the same, they changed the MAF. Also, the 07-08 have slighty higher compression than the 05-06, which is why they sound raspier than the older ones.

05-06 was 9.6:1
07-08 is 9.8:1

the header is deff different, as is the intake manifold. the MAF was changed , the cams have been revised to be slightly more aggressive and the compression was bumped up to 9.8:1 ... they also changed the tires but they still suck

believe it or not the 07-08's are slightly faster then the 05-06's ... by a very small amount

LOL That's funny. I drove an 05 manual tC. I then had a turbo and then built motor. I just remember being able to just take off at a light stock 05 and chirp the tires from 1st to 3rd. I seem to get way better traction with the 08.

That's right I knew about the piston comp but forgot. That would explain why my buddy dyno'd 154whp on a mustang dyno totally stock with his '07.

What exactly is different with the header (flange?)? I seem to see headers are for sale for 05 to 08. Do these company's not not there's a difference?

I bought the strup header that is listed as a direct bolt on for 05-08, I have an 07 and it fit without a problem. they all will fit all years thus far. The only reason any aftermarket header for the scion tc that dosnt fit is probly due to poor craftmenship. Then again i havnt used all the headers out there for the tc so i cant really prove that.

all the headers work, the difference is that the 07-08 headers are "equal-lenght", then there's the cat... but well...
the 05-06 are not equal-length.

So it's the stock headers that are different but the important stuff like the flanges are all the same so all aftermakets will fit?

I though all the aftermarket would fit but someone told me different. This is good to know. Thanks guys!

I can chirp no prob from 1st to third in mine. could have been the tires as well. Stickier tires would prevent a lot of exessive wheel spin
