Use also a step colder of spark plugs. And check them regularly.

ohhh...okay i wasnt familiar with the term knocking...i understand mostly how an engine works, how to compensate and what not is a diffrent story..thank you, you cleared somethings up...

i think as of now i will be going with a 75 shot and 93 octane (to be safe)....

in the future i would like to get the tc to 300whp(will satisfy me with this car doesnt need any more in the engine department) going the nitrous route....any suggestions on how to achieve this safely and without consequences like strange idle and 4 MPG ,
definitely look into a engine management system either the camcon (i've heard good reviews and from what it sounds like you need to start at something a bit more basic) or maybe consider the emanage, however i did hear that someone was comming out with a VVTI controller, so maybe you wont have to go piggy back at all...just things to consider, that'll help you A LOT with your tuning concerns....

ive heard some not so good things about e-manage from the turbo guys... but im not sure if that was blue or ultimate?..

vvti controller?,,,interesting any rumors on release dates perhaps?...
can a engine management system have a setting for nitrous and a setting for DD then swap in between the settings, in between sprays?....

i gotta agree with soros151 on that one, ive never read a complaint about the emanage system, from what i've read its quite extensive, however, its really up to you to find out whats best fit for your application, i dont remember the specs or any infor on the VVTI controller, but ill look and try and find the thread again, and in regards to setting up nitrous on a DD, i'd be a little aprehensive to have it kick in on a constant basis, sure it'll make your car faster and in the short term you might see no issues, however, if you want to prolong your engine life (as im sure you know) this would be a bad idea, why dont you just have a switch for you nitrous?? i think it would cut down on a lot of issues you might encounter

no no you misunderstood i would use nitrous only as needed...i would want the feature of being able two switch through two diffrent modes so that whe i sprayed i could spray more(safely-more needed fuel to compensate for the exteme levels of nitrous), and when im not, i can have a smooth idle and a nice MPG

say i push more fuel to compensate for the amount of nitrous im going to be spraying....well if i only spray a couple times a month the rest of the time i will be gettting a rough idle and snitty gas mileage...
on the upside if i can switch between two modes, i can have a relaxed completly DDable car, and when i want to race, a beast of a sport compact.....

dude, fredog you dont need any e manage system or anything like that you jus cut the fuel line T'it off and put the fuel soleniod when you spray it sucks fuel when your not sprayin it doesnt go anywhere, and if you find the right jet nozzle like i did you gonna get a good air fuel ratio there is nothing complicated about the nitrous system, but i guess you have to be spryin like me to understand it i was like you tryin to find out everything there is about nitrous so check this post out.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...t=top++nitrous

that should help alot and save me alot of writtin i learned alot from reading there and thats where i compare my sprak plugs when i change them to see how im running and also i used the jet calculator to get my right setup.
tell me what you think

oh and by the way i get 23-24 miles a gallon on 93 octane and i idle at about 1000 or 900 rpm jus like anyone else and i drive mostly city. so your gas milage wont go down unless you spray cause that will be like making it a 5 cylinder lol get what im sayin ???

why do you think you dont need enigine managemtent at 300 hp? the forced induction guys need it at 230hp. And no not for fuel, check your plugs all you want, for ignition timing for knocking. You will knock at 300hp sprayed. Your pistons will have little divots in the tops of them. You need to pull ignition timing.

for the v-manage (VVTI-controller) u still need an e-manage blue or Ultimate.

well i got my nitrous system tuned and i dont need any engine managment system and turbo guys need it because of the boost they need more fuel and such with nitrous your only gonna spray for a couple of second everygear so when your not spraying you need your car to be jus like new and im at 203 hp and 258 torque and i dont need any management stuff all i did was install the nitrous and thats it and im running perfect.

listen to soros151 and redwar1441, not only will you have a more reliable car with the engine management system, but you could pull more HP across the board (even without NOS) and get closer to your 300hp goal, its enough to just expand the capabilities of your car, but you need to extend that idea and utilize the parts, as you know many cars are untertuned from the factory, so taking that into consideration there is absolutely nothing wrong with using an engine management system, even those with NA applications

man that nitrous thread was intense......

umm, so to prevent from knocking at 300hp sprayed, engine management is a must, as well as colder sparks, anything else?

the update is that while you could probably make 300whp NA w/ a nitrous shot on the dyno, 300whp NA is not easily attainable, without bucketloads of $$$. nor is 300whp (especially all motor because you have power and tq right off the bat, as oppose to waiting for boost to come in) FWD really practical for the street.

isn't there a "200whp NA" thread around here somewhere to bump?

tcpete is doing an all motor build currently and he states he is at 180hp i think and same torque, but i have never seen a dyno nor do i believe he has posted one, we just have to take his word.
