Default 3SGTE plus driveline in the tC?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-3SGTE-TO...ht_20593wt_715

Has anyone ever heard of doing this swap? Or know if it's possible. Thanks

Its OBD1...might end up being a "for offroad use only" vehicle...You would have to re-wire everything. Possible but a lot of work.

I don't think anyone on here has done it but something like this was done to a xB2. It's became RWD turbo.

I'm sure it could be done but the time and money invested I doubt would be worth it.

I've contemplated this swap before... it'll fit and the wiring will need to be done but a easier route is using the tC transmission
with the 3SGTE engine due to the fact that they bolt up and that if u were to use a MR2 trans the shift linkages wouldn't line up.

Can you not make the same if not more power just going turbo on the stock 2AZ-FE?
Would be cheaper for sure.

A caldena rear supposedly will work with the 1st gen rear as well. This is deffinately possible, just going to be a lot of work for minor gains.

A complete motor build up and turbo would be cheaper in the long run. While this may/is possible it will cost a fair penny just to be different. I wouldn't waste my money.

If you have the funds, anything is possible. Are you doing this yourself or taking it to shop? Plenty have asked about different swaps, and really the only one that has been done DIY is the Camry V6 swap(still staying FWD). Driveline to AWD hasn't been done. Of course the RWD conversion has only been done by big $$$ shops that are in motorsports and the engines used are the 2AZFE, used the 3SGE from the Altezza, and the NASCAR V8.
