I know there are other threads on this...but very interesting read none the less. This guy is the original author of doing this some 4 decades ago and still doing it today. Most other sites just rip off his study. We are doing it on 2 of our older company trucks - one diesel and one gas. So far - we have gained about 4 miles to a gallon average after 2 weeks of running it.
Our fuel bills run about $7K a month...we are ready to try almost anything.

I may try this if I fill up this weekend. I go through a full tank about every week and a half or so (though that will cut down once winter comes).
It's good to see that someone has really given this a try and seen results.

i wouldnt try it on a new car, but maybe an old one after, and only after reading and hearing testimonials from others who have done it. Thats a LOT to read...but I wouldnt be suprised it works. I believe the gas companies want you to get worse mileage. I also think the gas companies and car companies work hand in hand. They could make better running cars, but gas companies wouldnt get as much $ then. Its happening but not as much! The hybrid synergy or whatever toyota has, and the honda hybrids...I bet they could make a car run 100mpg if they WANTED us to have it...but there is no money in it. I car could have a 10 gallon tank and go 1000 miles or 10 gallons and go 200 miles...and make u fill up more...our goverment and american systems suck. all about $ and the owners...
Anybody ever really tried this method ? My 92 accord gets like 28mpg mixed driving! I'm always up for anything to boost gas mileage.

Ive been doing this for a couple months already and I know Lo_Bux_racer has been doing it with some success. I havent really been keeping track of my numbers since I have changed my intake a few times added a header and now suspension has me driving differently from week to week. I notice a smoother idle since adding it more than anything but that my just be a placebo effect. I have a buddy trying it in his Ford Escape and he claims he sees a difference but he drives a lot more than I do. Ive been adding 1.5 oz to a full tank.

Ok so acetone makes up nail polish remover, but where can I find just straight acetone? Auto stores, or do I just buy nail polish remover measure and pour? Sorry if this is a dumb ___ question, but figured it was worth me askin as opposed to destrying things by being stupid. Thanks

Thanks. so 2 oz is the standard that you and lowbux are running at for now? i saw that he ran 3 and 1 at one point, just trying to get the best blend here. the 2 oz is on a full tank right? sorry im asking so many questions. rather be safe than sorry though.

Acetone can be found at most hardware stores, etc....just make sure it is 100% acetone.
Also, you need to make sure the actual gas you use does not have any other mixture in it to cut it, like Ethenol (sp).
He also has other things to do such as the radiator temp running around 190 deg, using the best plugs, etc. His approach is to make the engine run at it's absolute best to not waste one drop of fuel.

For those worried about paint damage, get a long funnel for $0.99 at your local auto parts store and be careful and keep a rag handy. There should be no reason for you to get any on your paint unless you are being very careless.
