adding hp at no cost?

i know this is a stupid question, but is there a way to tweak your car and add hp without spending money?

Nothing springs to mind, really...

Remove the exhaust? Cut holes in your airbox like some other guy did here recently?

It doesn't add horsepower, but if you want to make your car quicker for free, strip all the excess weight.

Take stock muffler off ;) (actually it does not sound too bad)

Take out passenger seat...
Remove all indoor panels...
Remove A/C unit - get shorter belt...
Take out backs Seat...
Take out speakers...
Take out deck...

your car will be quicker...and you didn't spend a DIME!

This: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82434 is probably your best bet. It may not be pretty, but It will likely free up a few HP.

I stripped my interior minus the dash... for dynamating... and its not that much of an improvement... maybe a little but not at what it leaves you with out.
