Adding Power
I have been looking online for awhile on what supercharger gives the most power for the price. I havent been able to find any real answers and figured I should just ask. I have recently bought a 2008 tC and cant wait to add some mods to it. Going with a Borla exhaust, some kind of supercharger and lowering it for now. Looking for some help or ideas on where I need to go with the supercharger.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
I know that I am going to have to spend 3k or more, that is not the problem. I have heard the TRD superchargers are not the best on the market and I have read anoother thread where a guy was looking to buy a supercharger for around 3k for 40whp gain. I have seen turbos for 3.5k-4k with a 140wh gain. Dont want to go with a turbo for many reasons but looking for something that comes close to the ower output.
Superchargers for this car are almost a joke, hence why TRD Stopped making them. If you have 3K to spend, go turbo. If you do enough searching on here, you'll find the answers you want. Basically superchargers won't get you anywhere close to the power of a turbo.
What reasons for not wanting turbo?
What reasons for not wanting turbo?
Im not going to be racing my car so the huge boost of power from the turbo I feel is not needed. I dont like how difficult it can be to install and tune the turbos. They can be hard on the engine after awhile. I just see the supercharger as an easier way to get a boost of power that im looking for. If I had all the information on what I needed to buy and make a turbo run properly I might go that route. I see turbo kits that dont have this part, or need this to be tuned and in the area I live there isnt a turbo installer.
you can have a turbo only had 40 hp if that's what you really wanted. just have boost down wayyyy low. and a turbo tuned correctly will have your engine outlasting a supercharger by far.
