Got the car today!! Not a scratch on it, the paint is immaculate, the rims have no dings (look new), new tires, inside is clean as a pin. Engine/Transmission sound great.

Only issues are: some sort of hole in the cubby area under the radio, husband thinks it is from a radar dector. Some spots on the upholstery. My husband drove it home (>200 miles!) and said it starts to vibrate at about 75 mph.......

Any suggestions what the vibration may be from? Overall, very happy with the decision, paid almost $4k BELOW kbb retail!!

Thanks! We really took our time. We wanted a little road trip so it helped to widen to search out to 300 miles!

I found it through cars.com, called the salesman last night and did the credit/financing over the phone.....got there, drove it, signed papers with the totally SMARMY finance "manager" who was all of 20 years old, then out the door. Good experience except didn't appreciate all the "trickery" the F/I guy was TRYING to pull.

Is it a small hole? If so, is there a light in the cubby when you turn on the lights? If yes on 1 and no on 2, that is the problem. There is a light socket that snaps into that hole and lights up the cubby area. Some get pushed out somehow and some people took them out.

If you reach around behind the cubby you should be able to find the socket and snap it back into the hole. If there is no bulb in it you can find those easilly as well. Superbrightleds.com also has led module replacements (at least they used to) so you could make it any color you want.

The vibration is most likely an out of balance wheel. May just need to have a tire shop balance them again for you.

Is it on the left side of the cubby?? That makes sense....

I will check it tonight. It was daylight and didn't notice if there was supposed to be a light on or not. I will let my hubby know as well, he is great at fixing things, esp. cars!

Thanks!

only thing u have to worry is maintenance between 100,000 and 130,000 miles the water pump goes out usually but not all the time i live in illinois winters are pretty hard i would recommend snow tires as a separate set for winter from all season or performance tires cause with all season or performance tires there made to only go down a certain temperature where as snow tires are made for 32 degrees and lower freezing temperatures with all seasons if there in that temperature they lose there flexibility to when they are spinnig while your driving it wont move the water n snow out as your driving cause the tire is basically frozen cause the sipes are not closing and opening so winter tires would not do that hope this helps with a set of tires you may get along the way ur in the midwest so im im thinkin u get pretty bad winters lol.

there was zero punctuation in that run on sentence.

All season tires work fine below freezing (hence ALL season). They compromise some snow handling in order to be an all around tire, so they are not excellent snow tires. But a good set of them will get you through the year unless you live way out where they dont plow.

You are thinking about summer tires, which should not be driven in cold temps.

obviously you wouldnt need any type of tire where they dont plow u need chains lol still that all season is still not made for those BEELOW freezing temperature cause if you look on the sidewall of the tire it says temperature A. but you can find a decent all season if you do not prefer snow tires but it does make alot of difference.

It snowed here on Saturday (the night we gave it to her) and the car did amazingly well....althought there was only about 1/2" on the road, it didn't slide/spin at all. I don't know exactly what kind of tires are on it, but, she will not be driving it when it is bad out anyway. I will just drive my Camry, which happens to be excellent in the snow!

Nope... driven in unplowed 12 inch deep snow effortlessly more than a few times in our 4Runner on those dreaded all seasons.. you know the one with the "A" temp rating, which tells you how much HEAT the tire can dissipate (or better yet, its ability to handle heat) , not how low of a temp the tire can be run in. All seasons, again, are perfectly fine in below freezing temps and are made to run all year round. They arent going to be nearly as good in the snow as a set of snow tires, but if you live in a metro area, where they tend to plow well, then you arent usually driving in as much snow and the all seasons will work. I have 3 cars, none of which have ever wore a set of snow tires, and have yet to have a need for them here in the mpls metro area. Nor did I need them driving from Mpls, 14 hours through blizzard conditions, a couple of winters ago in our 4Runner.
